"Let me start by saying that the owner is wonderful, wonderful, wonderful. We came to San Fran for my cousin's wedding as well as a vacation as it was our first time in the area, and definitely worthy of exploring. I was very leery about conducting a transaction with an individual, sight unseen, however this particular arrangement couldn't have been more perfect, and gone more smoothly. She communicates wonderfully, answers any/all questions you may have, and is beyond accomodating.
The house is very charming. You can tell that they have worked hard to maintain the character of the period in which it was built. With a little garden area in the back and asian fuit trees in the front, the ambiance extends beyond the interior. We had our windows open every day, as well as the back patio door. The breakfast nook and tv room was where we congregated most evenings. What a perfect little space. The breeze was divine, and the temps in June couldn't have been more perfect. The home does not have heat or air, but in this climate, I can't see that it would be horribly necessary.
The kitchen has been updated, and is very serviceable. She even has a vast array of spices on hand for you to use. I would recommend a larger stock pot, a toaster, and a coffee pot that fits the coffee maker a bit better, but other than that, just about anything you need is there.
The bedrooms are fine, and each have their own bathroom. The bedroom with the murphy bed has a balcony, which we loved. We left the doors to the balcony open every night and enjoyed the breeze and the sounds of the city. I would recommend upgrading the mattresses, however that is really just a personal preference. Some may think they are just perfect for their sleeping comfort.
The washer and dryer were wonderful to have as well.
Overall, I would highly recommend allowing yourself the pleasure of being a guest at this lovely, lovely home away from home."
