"This is our third stay in this wonderful cottage. It has everything we needed, even laundry, and is very comfortable. Having a glass of wine on the deck and watching the hummingbirds in the garden was a wonderful way to spend an hour in the afternoon.
The cottage is immaculately clean and well maintained, and is in the perfect area. Plenty of food and shopping nearby and buses abound to take you to other areas. I would recommend the cottage to anyone who wants to feel like a local for a few days - it really does feel like you're living in the city. Pop out the front gate into the hustle and bustle, but with a quiet cottage to relax in after a busy day in the city."

"First of all, the owners must keep that turtle float; we looked forward to relaxing on it every day after sightseeing. The private outdoor area (pool, hot tub, abundant seating, tree chair) is the best part, really another living area. The house itself is comfortable with a large kitchen, comfortable living room, and two decent sized bedrooms, although the child's bedroom is small. A nice luxury is that every bedroom has an attached bathroom. Unlike renting a family's vacation condo, it was a little awkward to live out of a suitcase (or off the floor) for a week because the closets and drawers are filled with the homeowners' clothes. Parallel parking in the driveway can be a challenge since there is little extra space off the windy canyon road and I was certainly glad that our rental car was no minivan; I have no idea where guests would park their cars and one has to be careful when walking on the windy street with no sidewalks. We enjoyed the restaurants and shops of Fairfax and of nearby St. Anselmo, and we also recommend strongly the Farmer's Market on Wednesdays and the Thai food restaurant in Fairfax. Although we never found the ferry to San Francisco, we did okay parking in the city as long as we just parked once and then hoofed it around for the rest of the day. We do recommend going to Muir Woods and wine country on weekdays if you hate crowds."

"Three generations of women, ages 20, 52, 55, 78 gasped when we walked into our destination "Villa"!!!!
Truly glorious view of San Francisco, Alcatraz, The Bay. We were stunned. And it just got better. The Villa is beautifully situated... and we walked everywhere... up and down!!! and down and up!!! and even up to the Golden Gate Bridge (for the younger ones!) A note, take a windbreaker should you decide to do this... it is windy and cool.
We enjoyed the "village" of Sausalito. We thoroughly enjoyed the BridgeCafe for breakfast (3x), Trident and Scoma (2x) for dinner.
We took the Ferry to San Francisco and had an amazing view of "the Rock"... it really is!!! Another note... if you are interested in visiting, particularly in the Summer, make your reservations to "visit" Alcatraz as soon as possible. Solid booking during the Summer months.
This is a grand place and the amenities are many. Enjoy! We certainly did. Thank you to the family for sharing your wonderful Villa. I recommend it without reservation."
