  • Comfy, cozy, well situated - with one drawback

"We spent a lovely 4 days/3 nights at Lone Fir Cottage. Eleanore, the owner, was very responsive and helpful. The cottage is cozy and quiet, surrounded by oaks, with partial ridge views. Wonderfully located, practically inside Pt Reyes National Seashore and a short drive to Point Reyes Station. The spacious hot tub (a highlight) was relaxing and therapeutic after long daily hikes. Remodeled bath is nicely appointed. Plenty of linens. Beds not new but comfortable. Books, puzzles, DVD player kept us entertained in the evenings, plus wi-fi, which we appreciated. Did not use the fireplace, as it was warm so we did not need it. The one negative: the kitchen is really not adequate and the mini refrigerator is too small, even for just two adults. We tried using our coolers but food spoiled anyway. There's a gas grill on the deck, but we did not use it due to our short stay and concerns about storing raw ingredients and leftovers. This might not be a big deal to others, but for us it really detracted from an otherwise enjoyable stay."

  • Lovely home!

"This is a wonderful vacation rental in Pt. Reyes Station -- we thoroughly enjoyed our three days here. The house is lovely -- large, comfortable rooms, a beautiful big yard, and a hot tub. We've rented a number of homes around this area, and this is by far the most comfortable and relaxing. Our 12- and 13-year-olds enjoyed the bunk beds in the "kids" room, and the big outdoor deck. We enjoyed the comfy chairs for reading in the living room, the big table in the kitchen for games, and the ready-for-cooking kitchen. All of us loved the proximity to great hiking, to one of the best independent book stores in the Bay Area, and to Cowgirl Creamery."

  • Let's keep this between us

"This is the kind of special place you don't want to tell too many people about. I hesitate to write about it but I can't resist singing its praises. It's beautiful in a spare, casual elegant style. We loved the all-white motif, but those who like fussy interiors will find this place too Spartan. It's immaculate and up to date, very well maintained. Views are wonderful. Walls are mostly windows. We had cloudy days, but most days the sunsets here would be great. It's quiet and isolated, but easy to get to and close enough to Point Reyes. Ann's recommendation that we try Nick's Cove for dinner was spot-on. If you stay here, don't miss it. I would definitely come here again. We had the North Suite. From what I could tell, it was bigger and had better views than the South one. Even though someone was in there, right next door, we never felt intruded on. This place is great for couples, not for families. Dump the kids on grandma and chill here!"

  • Fantastic stay at One Mesa for our whole family!

"We stayed at Mesa One over Xmas and New Years with our 3 daughters and their families. It was a perfect place to stay for many reasons. All of the bedrooms and the cottage are spaced such that everyone had some privacy, yet there were three indoor spaces for gathering as well as outdoor decks. This contributed greatly to us all enjoying our trip but having space to chill. The kitchen is large and very well equipped - we cooked all of our meals there and managed to all fit round the large table. The house overlooks a beautiful meadow and green hills in the distance and its a gentle walk to the town even with 4 children in tow. Pt Reyes has so many beautiful places to walk and hang out - in our 8 days there we only began to explore the area. While we were there, my husband and I renewed our vows in the back garden overlooking the hills and it was an idyllic setting. It couldn't have been more perfect! Mila and her staff were so helpful and hospitable. All in all, it was a superb place for us to gather with our family and we hope to come again in the near future."
