  • Amazing!

"I selected this vacation rental due to its location, being walking distance to many attractions in the Castro (and MUNI). I stayed here for five nights with a group of six people. There was more than enough space for our group, and everything was just as described (or better) when we arrived. The group kept asking me, "How did you find this place?" Views from almost every room are spectacular, and the photos on VRBO don't do this place justice. You have to see it to believe it! The appliances are top of the line, but nothing beats the view from the upstairs bathroom. Booking this rental was easy, and the owners provided detailed instructions on what to expect, and how to use everything in the home. The nearby grocery store was a definite plus, and the Keurig in the kitchen was a nice bonus too!"

  • Wonderful appartment

"Kristoffer and Dan were very kind and helpful hosts. We enjoyed every minute at their property, in the premises as well as in the lovely sitting area in the garden. If we hopefully come again to SF, "beyond the palm" will be our first address. Pierre & Rita"

"This apartment was great. It had everything we needed for a family of four, but could've easily accommodated six. The apartment is very large extremely well appointed and in a fabulous location. You have easy access to the entire city. Restaurants and shops are close at hand. For those of you who like to cook, this apartment comes with a beautiful kitchen that has all the basics. Although it is not well enough equipped to handle gourmet cooking, you can do very nicely. The local groceries, a Safeway and a whole foods, or about two blocks away This said, the neighborhood restaurants are all very good and generally inexpensive, so if you don't want to cook, don't worry. There are a few important things to know about this apartment that may affect your decision to rent. First, you have to climb a fairly long narrow flight of stairs to get to the apartment. For most people this is not a problem. Second, if you are going to have a rental car, parking is a at a premium. No parking zones rotate to allow for trash pickup and street cleaning. Daytime parking is two hours or with a permit. Our wonderful hosts offered to let us use their parking tag but we felt bad about it so we never took them up on their offer. We did not find the parking to be a big issue. We parked in different places, read the signs, and we were out all day in any event. Third, and this was for us a minor inconvenience, there is only one bathroom and is equipped with a traditional "ball and claw" bathtub, which one of my children found difficult to manage with those minor caveats I wholeheartedly recommend this unit. By the way, the property owners are incredible glass artists. Check out their work for sure. It is amazing. ."

  • Home away from home

"My wife and I stayed here and loved it! The location makes it very easy to get almost anywhere. Castro street is just down the road and it made getting to places so easy. We stayed in Portrero Hill two years ago and while nice, preferred this location. The flat is nice and comfortable. At times we would spend the entire day with windows open just reading and relaxing. It really was wonderful. I'm an avid runner and found this location to be a great central hub to go on runs and explore a bit given how close we were to many landmarks. One side note, some may complain about parking, but really it was not a challenge at all. If you are okay with walking just a bit you'll have no trouble. Just mind the street signs and parking will be a distant memory. We stayed for 7 days and never had a problem with parking. This includes during the pride parade that was taking place upon our arrival. You really can't miss with this spot as the hosts are very prompt and gracious. We would most definitely consider staying here again."
