  • Visit SF and come "home" to a Hillside Cottage above the Bay on a secret Tropical Lane!

"Amazing location: hillside above the Bay with impressive interior and exterior (roof patio) Bay views. This cottage is literary, historical, and artistic. The kitchen is stocked with gourmet tools. We preferred to pick up local fresh fish and farmer's market produce and eat at home...on the roof patio! Two blocks from the Hyde/Powell Trolley Car, your stop is famous Swenson's Ice Cream (hurry home with a "Swenson's Pint"). This Secret Tropical Lane is a couple of blocks from The Wharf & Pier 39, The Marina, North Beach (little Italy), Coit Tower and Filbert Steps, and Grace Cathedral (with interior and exterior Labyrinths)! The Telegraph Hill Parrots visit every afternoon. The Host/Manager is easy to work with and flexible. We still dream about San Francisco and The Cottage. It is one of our favorite vacations ever!"

  • Fantastic, tasteful apartment in central San Francisco

"What a great place to stay. You cannot go wrong if you choose this great apartment sight unseen like I did. What strikes you most is all the great interior decorating that has gone into the place. Mainly earth tones but the living room and dining have a lot of burnt orange with black and white artwork and it looks really good. Also there is a BBQ deck off the kitchen and then another garden right off two of the bedrooms where there are Japanese maples growing. We also went up to the top floor to the roof garden which has great views. The apartment has a large kitchen with a huge subzero fridge and a European dishwasher. It also has a washer and dryer so that was great. We met the owner Patricia one evening and she was very nice and she had earlier sent up a "places to Go List" which was very helpful."

  • Beautifully decorated, comfortable apartment

"This apt was beautiful! Robert and Alev obviously took great care in decorating it and also in supplying everything needed for a comfortable stay. Robert met us upon our arrival and gave some great advice on sites to see and where to go for eating out. The garden in the back was beautiful, but unfortunately it was too cold out while we were here to enjoy sitting out there. Would be a pretty spot to have your morning coffee or afternoon cocktail though! Parking may be a hassle if you are renting a car (we did), but if you get there after 6pm on a Friday, you won't have to move the car until 10am Monday morning! The Muni busses were everywhere, so if you didn't have a car you'd have no problem getting around. The Presidio is literally right across the street, and there's a lot to see and do there. We went to Fort Point, which was very interesting and has a great view of the Golden Gate Bridge. You can also walk to the bridge from there if you should want to. (Just to mention - we had thought we'd rent bikes to ride over the bridge, but decided to walk it instead and were glad we did. The biking side was very busy and it looked like it would be a hassle to stop and check out the view or take pictures because of being in the way of other bikers. Walking was definitely the way to go!) After Fort Point, we lucked out and caught a food truck extravaganza in the park! (Most Sundays. Across from the Disney Museum) Food, music, beer/wine, and lots of people hangin out and havin fun! There are steps (LOTS of them) leading to an awesome view just to the left of the street this apt is on. Worth doing if you don't mind the exercise! Ask Robert or Alev for directions. If you want to have an excellent dinner out, try Meze's on Chestnut St. Great Greek food and wonderful service. We were going to go there Friday, but it was very crowded (as were most places), so we ended up going on Sunday, which was perfect. I would suggest eating at the apt. on Fridays because everywhere had long waits. Had breakfast one day at Mel's Diner. Don't bother. Overpriced and not very good. I would definitely recommend this rental to anyone wanting to be in a quiet neighborhood. We also stayed in a rental in the Corona Heights/Castro area, which was much busier and had more going on, but we were glad we did both! This one was at the end of our vacation and was the perfect way to relax for the last few days."
