  • Cannot say enough good things about this house and our stay

"We cannot say enough good things about our stay. The home is both stunning and wonderfully comfortable. The photos are great, but they do not do justice to the design and craftsmanship of the home. Our whole family (three kids eight and under) loved the home. Our kids would say they wanted to go back "home" while going to many of the sites around the city, and we could not blame them. The neighborhood is quaint and only a few blocks from terrific shopping and restaurants, and the views are amazing. Especially from the third floor. The home exceeded our expectations, but what really made our time so nice were the owners. They could not have been more organized, helpful, welcoming and warm. My only hesitation in writing this review is that I am concerned that the word will get out and we certainly plan on coming back. A highly recommend home and experience!"

  • Beautiful home, superb location

"This was the perfect home and location for a weeks stay in San Francisco. The house is beautifully and tastefully maintained and contained all the creature comforts we could need. We stayed with our 18 month old daughter and used the kitchen frequently for her meals but the location was ideal to walk to fab restaurants and cafes in the Marina or Union Street. The home was also a great place not only to explore the city but the whole Bay area. The owner was very prompt in replying to our queries prior to booking and attentive during our stay. We couldn't fault our week!"

  • Ellis and Ton

"We stayed in this beautiful cottage for a more than a month. It is situated in the backyard of the house, a private and quite place; backyards, filled up with trees and flowers, surround the cottage. We loved the sunny bedroom, walking closet and the large bathroom unsuited. The facilities are good and when you need something Nancy Leavens, the owner, is always very helpful. Cow Hollow is a beautiful neighborhood with a lot of nice and fancy shops, restaurants and bars in the Chestnut- and the Union Street. The Golden Gate Bride and the Presidio Park are nearby. The Presidio has nice restaurants where you can go for a drink, a meal or an interesting lecture. Every Thursday evening and Sunday afternoon they organize the Off the Grid meetings: a lot of food trucks and a great picnic. Within 10 minutes by buss, you will be in the center of the town or nearby Fisherman’s Wharf. Nancy helps you to settle in the neighborhood and she will inform you about the local markets, events etc. We had a great time with Nancy and her lovely dogs and we will come back for sure!"

  • Perfect return visit to the cottage

"This is our third stay in this wonderful cottage. It has everything we needed, even laundry, and is very comfortable. Having a glass of wine on the deck and watching the hummingbirds in the garden was a wonderful way to spend an hour in the afternoon. The cottage is immaculately clean and well maintained, and is in the perfect area. Plenty of food and shopping nearby and buses abound to take you to other areas. I would recommend the cottage to anyone who wants to feel like a local for a few days - it really does feel like you're living in the city. Pop out the front gate into the hustle and bustle, but with a quiet cottage to relax in after a busy day in the city."
