"We enjoyed the very quiet, safe, inner courtyard, and clean downstairs apartment in an updated Victorian with the owner residence above. The #2 bus was only a half a block away and we could access everywhere in the city. It was accurately portrayed in the ad and was a good stay. We would recommend this place to anyone."

  • Fantastic experience in a walker's paradise

"I rented the City View apartment for 3 months and absolutely loved it. The location in Noe Valley was perfect for me because it is a safe, very walkable part of the city. The weather is the best in the city because it was sunny just about every day out of the 92 days I was there, and it is centrally located, so it was easy to hop on MUNI/J Line and get anyplace I wanted to in just a matter of minutes. The view of the city is breathtaking and the deck, with a BBQ, lends itself to many days and nights out there relaxing and taking it all in. The apartment was immaculate when I checked in and everything was better than I even expected, and I expected a lot based on the other reviews. The owners, Lee and Bob were always available if I needed to contact them, which I rarely did, but it was nice to know that they were there if I needed anything. They are not intrusive at all and I felt like the place was my home just hours after checking in. This was the best rental experience I have ever had, and I've had quite a few. You will not need to pack much at all, except for clothes, because everything you need is there waiting for you when you check in. You even can spend time with the sweetest dog in the world, if you want to. The dog, Molly, was the high point of my stay at this appointment, although her owners are quite wonderful too. I loved having her over for visits since I was missing my own dogs who were back at home. Bob and Lee made this the best experience I could have ever imagined and it was very difficult to leave my new "home" when my 3 months was up. Whether you have been to SF many times, or this is your first visit, stay here. It is the perfect home base for wherever your plans take you. Avoid the hotels and touristy areas, and get to know the real SF. You can always hop on the MUNI and go visit all of those places, but then come home to the peace and serenity of your home with the best view in the city. I spent many days walking to the surrounding neighborhoods and felt like a real SF native when the sad day came that I had to leave. There is so much to do even 1 block away down on 24th Street. Perfect location and perfect experience."

  • Perfect for Extended Stays

"If you are planning a lengthy stay in San Francisco/California, Nancy's cottage is the perfect base. First of all, it is located in a quiet, real neighborhood close to two shopping/restaurant districts (Chestnut Street and Union Street), has a bus stop one block away on Union Street (Buses 45 and 41 which take you downtown) and several blocks away on Chestnut Street (Bus 30 which takes you down to Fisherman's Wharf, Ghiradelli Square, etc), a local French neighborhood bistro one and a half blocks away for those times you just want to pop out for lunch/dinner, several local launderers/cleaners, and a corner shop one block away for quick grocery pick-ups. Add to this its proximity to the Marina and the Presidio and it's pretty much perfectly located. We did not have a car, but I believe other guests have and purchased temporary permits to park on the streets. Now let's talk about the cottage itself. Without gushing too much, let me just say that it is charming, comfortable, efficient, and spotless. The kitchen has top-notch appliances (stove, fridge, micro, toaster, dishwasher, toaster oven), and comes completely stocked with pots/pans, dishes, cutlery, and utensils, and even some pantry items like coffee, tea, olive oil, vinegar, flour, etc. The living room is comfortable with a TV, fireplace (gas), lovely garden views, and decorated with just enough of Nancy's travel souvenirs and art work that you feel like you are in a real home, but not so much that you feel like you are in someone else's personal space. There is a lovely dining area next to the kitchen that leads out to a small patio, perfect for morning coffee or evening glass of wine. Throughout the house are portable heaters for zone heating. We used them especially in the morning to take the chill off. There is also a front garden between the cottage and Nancy's lovely Victorian home that has a seating area. Upstairs is a generous bedroom with king-size bed (actually two twins pushed together), a huge closet area, and a very nice bathroom, complete with lots of good towels. All windows in the cottage look out on gardens. The cottage is located at the confluence of neighbors' gardens and they're all beautiful and lush! Add to all this Nancy's two adorable dogs (Sadie and Twyla), who greet you coming and going and often come to visit, and Nancy herself, who is most gracious and helpful, and you have a perfect base for a San Francisco/California visit. Highly recommended!!"

  • San Francisco graduation trip

"We just returned from renting this condo in Noe Valley. It was perfect! Very comfortable and very convenient. Public transportation very close. Noe Valley 24th St. shops just down the block. Bakery, Whole Foods, etc within walking distance for food. Wonderful deck to drink your morning coffee. Would highly recommend this place. Long flight of stairs to the condo, but worth it."
