"After a taxi drove us down a dark back lane where every wall and door was covered with complex graffiti, our expectations for this flat had come to be pretty low. But once we unlocked what seemed to be the only door on the lane that was graffiti-less and climbed a flight of stairs, we found herself in a tastefully decorated sunny apartment equipped with comfortable furniture and top-of-the-line appliances--not what you'd expect to find atop a garage. The apartment was almost always quiet (the only exception being the occasional opening of the garage door down below, which could then be heard sliding up pretty dramatically just about a foot under the bed). But despite the general calm, it's only about a five minute walk to a BART station, and not much further to a number of excellent restaurants on Valencia. After reading frightening reports from other freaked-out SF visitors online about the army of homeless people in San Francisco, I expected the Mission district to be more unsettling that we might have preferred. But this apartment, and the lane it's on, and the streets around it, seemed to be very peaceful--albeit with a lot of interesting and unthreatening street life nearer the BART station. Of the ten or so flats we've rented in the US and various places in Europe, this one turned out to be one of the better experiences. I recommend it."

"We rented the apartment for two months as we were relocating to SF, and ended up extending for a third month. The apartment is clean and well maintained with everything we needed, and was exactly as portrayed on the website. The location is outstanding - two blocks from public transport, and easy walk to major attractions, and a very good supermarket within easy walking distance, as well convenience stores steps away. The only drawback to the location was the potential for noise - we had night time roadworks across the road for the entire duration of our stay. Direct TV was available with an enormous channel selection (though a larger TV might be appreciated by some), plus good internet access. We really enjoyed our stay, and the owners were very responsive to a minor issue we had at the start of our stay."

"Upon arrival we were so pleasantly welcomed by our host, Guillermo. This private, comfortable, well appointed apartment suited our needs splendedly! The furnishings are stylish and the kitchen complete, so we were able to enjoy leisurely mornings without the need to rush out. Having access to the washer/dryer allowed another convenience after having been on the road prior to arrival. A nearby bus line (near Safeway grocery), and a short walk to the Castro neighborhood, we reacquainted to San Francisco easily. So pleased were we that we look forward to returning next year. Many thanks, Guillermo!"

"Our brief weekend stay couldn't have been better. We didn't do our usual trip planning but it turns out we really didn't need to as all of Laura's recommendations were perfect. The Fishermans Warf area is an easy walk past Fort Mason and bike rentals are plentiful in the Marina area so you can explore Crissy Field towards the Golden Gate bridge. Secret tip--free shuttle service within the Presidio. Dont miss Friday night food truck party Off the Grid and weekend brunch at Greens Restaurant. Be sure and schedule time just to sit in the apartment's patio and listen to the foghorns! Laura was extremely easy to work with (helped us store bags as our flight arrived insanely early), the apartment was comfortable and well-appointed and the whole weekend felt more like we were staying in the home of a really fun cousin who unfortunately had to be at work the whole time we were there."
