  • Amazing Apartment & Location

"My family and I were looking for a cozy apartment with space for four people who are used to all living alone but coming together for a vacation, and we found that with Katrina's apartment. She is right on numerous bus and train lines leading in every direction and is walking distance from every type of restaurant. We were able to easily walk to a Whole Foods and were pleasantly surprised by the welcome basket and drinks that she had left for us. Katrina and her apartment definitely helped make our reunion vacation enjoyable and absolutely unforgettable. We would gladly stay there again, and we would all highly recommend the apartment to anyone visiting San Francisco. (Note: it is a one floor exterior walk up if you have trouble with stairs or carrying your suitcase.)"

  • Quiet street, Charming home centrally located

"My daughter and I wanted to stay in a local neighborhood away from all the tourist hotels. This presented the perfect spot--the Inner sunset neighborhood is centrally located to all the attractions. We walked everywhere we could or took public transportation (better than those in Los Angeles). The home is 100 years old but it is well maintained. To say that we were there on the night of the 6.1 earthquake (August 24) and felt safe. The kitchen has granite counter tops and the range, fridge, dishwasher and microwave appear to be new. There are utensils for cooking if you choose to. The market is close by and there are many choices for coffee and breakfast eateries within walking distance on 9th between Judah and Lincoln. Michael, the owner was friendly and gave us a tour of the apartment when we came in. The place is decorated in the style of the era--the pictures are true to the place. The bathroom is small, but functional; shower is divine for aching muscles after a long day of walking. We did not get a chance to try the patio in the back. It is charming and the neighbors are quiet. I will warn travelers that parking is a premium and requires time to find parking in areas that are not permit parking only. Our suggestion is to find good parking and leave the car unless needed. Use the Muni/bus service--they are great. For seniors like me, there are hills to climb and about 10 stairs to get into the apartment. I would recommend to anyone with children, adults who want to get the local flavor, or those who love to be centrally located to the San Francisco experience. I definitely would consider renting from them again."

  • Perfect Place

"This apartment was an absolutely perfect location for our family of four to enjoy a great week in San Francisco. The unit is spotless and has been beautifully renovated and has every possible convenience, with ample rooms and total privacy. Our host was extremely helpful in making sure we had everything we needed. The location is quiet and residential yet close to stores and activities as well as mass transit to downtown. We could not have asked for more."

  • As good as it gets!

"I cannot say enough great things about the Duck's Nest and its owner, Rob. I agree with all of the excellent points and glowing comments made by other reviewers (but I will not repeat them here). Instead, I will simply say that Rob is as thoughtful on all points as an owner can be, and the flat is "just right." After a few conversations with Rob, I felt more like a friend than a customer. I cannot imagine visiting San Francisco without trying to stay at the Duck's Nest. We felt lucky to have stayed there. Perfect location, perfect accommodations, fabulous stay. Thanks for everything, and we hope to visit again!"

Golden Gate Travel Tips

""Golden Gate Vacation Homes put you Near the Incredible Park""

You'll never be left wondering what to do when you stay in Golden Gate vacation homes. The nearby Golden Gate Park, one of the most visited city parks in the United States, provides over three miles of fun.

Within Golden Gate Park is the Conservatory of Flowers, a botanical garden and greenhouse that houses rare plants. Constructed entirely of glass panes and wood the large conservatory is as beautiful on the outside as on the inside.

Along with stunning plant life, Golden Gate Park also contains historic windmills, two lakes, a natural history museum and statues of famous people like Beethoven, Francis Scott Key and U.S. President James Garfield, as well as fictional characters Don Quixote and Sancho Panza.

""Feel Like a Resident of the Historic Neighborhoods""

Just east of Golden Gate Park is the famous Haight-Ashbury District. During your stay at the Golden Gate vacation homes, you'll feel like a local as you experience the independent restaurants, bars, record stores and boutiques, enjoying the bohemian atmosphere of Haight-Ashbury.

The location of Golden Gate vacation apartments, along with comforts found in your own home, help you feel like a local, and allow you to see what living in San Francisco is really like.

""San Francisco has Foodies and Sports Fans Covered""

For sports fanatics, San Francisco boasts two professional teams. Golden Gate vacation apartments put sports fans within 20 minutes of AT&T Park, home of the San Francisco Giants, and just 30 minutes from Candlestick Park, where the San Francisco 49ers play.

Though San Francisco vacation rentals allow you to prepare home-cooked meals, they also put you near many eateries that will satisfy your cravings. Vietnamese, Moroccan, Mediterranean, Japanese and soul food establishments give you a taste of San Francisco that you can't get from any of the food at a hotel.
