  • Stay here if you are visiting San Francisco

"This apt is a great place to stay if you are visiting SF. The pictures don't really do it justice. It's spacious, extremely clean, and has lots of extras such as magazines, books, premium cable channels, thick towels/washcloths, great showerhead, etc. David and Karen also greeted us with a nice bottle of wine and a fruit basket! The home is modern where it counts yet still has many of the original Victorian touches. This was our first time in this wonderful city and we wanted to see as many sites as possible. Staying in the Haight was great because everything was easily accessible. There is a gourmet market very close to the apt on Haight St. We also shopped at the Lucky supermarket which is a short bus ride away. The prices are really good at this supermarket. We walked from the apt through Golden Gate park and got to see the AIDS Memorial Grove on the way to the Academy of Science. The bus is one block away and connects to other buses, trains, and trolleys. I highly suggest purchasing a City Pass if you plan to see the sites. If going to Alcatraz, get the City Pass from their site. You should also make a reservation for that tour before getting there. The City Pass contains a transit coupon that's good for 9 days from the date you put on it and can be used for all types of public transportation. To be honest, none of the trolley/bus drivers even looked at the date, just the pass book. David was a great host and very helpful! We truly enjoyed our week in SF including experiencing tremors from the Sonoma earthquake a few hours before we left to go home!!!"

  • What a gem

"Mica was a pleasure to deal with from the first email. He did a great job of keeping in contact on the days leading up to our arrival. He let us drop off our bags early around noon while we went and explored the city while he cleaned up from some guests who left that morning. The wifi was a bit rocky at first but after some fiddling around it started cruising pretty good. The location is awesome. Local boutiques after local boutique , awesome food, and a block from the bus line which literally takes you anywhere. We rode the bus to north beach , Richmond district, the wharf and up to tank hill. I can't wait to return, this place was absolutely perfect."

  • Lovely Flat

"This is a charming San Francisco flat. It was perfect for our family of four. The flat was very clean and the beds were super comfortable. The kitchen was updated and has everything you need. It is close to Golden Gate park and a Whole Foods market is only a block away. The owner lives on the third floor and was very helpful and accommodating. I would certainly recommend it and I would stay here again with my family."

  • Even Better the 2nd Time

"The location is great, within easy (and interesting) walking distance to Haight Street, UCSF, the historic Castro Theater, Golden Gate Park, and many distinctive residential areas with fine architecture. A Muni pass for 3 or 7 days can be purchased at Cole Hardware, with the N-Judah line close by, and the #33 bus runs right up and down Ashbury. The studio itself is immaculate, has fast and reliable WiFi, DirecTV, beautiful garden and deck, very comfortable bed, and a well-equipped kitchen. Ellen has compiled an interesting an informative guide to SF in general and the Haight-Ashbury area in particular, and is always willing and eager to answer questions and make recommendations to ensure that her guests have the best possible experience. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay last year, this year's week was even better, and we are already looking at the calendar to book our next visit. Highly recommended."

Haight Ashbury Travel Tips

""Fun for the Entire Family With Haight Ashbury Vacation Homes""

The Haight Asbury District is famous as a central location of the 1960s counterculture. Nowadays, it is a great spot for family vacations, while still retaining its charm.

Haight Ashbury vacation homes are the best way to experience this famous part of San Francisco. These rentals provide the comfort of home, with kitchens that allow you to prepare meals rather than eat fast food for every meal, televisions and DVD players, internet connection and furniture. They also contain spacious family rooms and bedrooms.

Many of the Haight Ashbury vacation homes have backyard areas, so you don't have to spend all of the downtime of your vacation camped out in front of the television.

""Great Shopping and Nighttime Fun""

The Haight Ashbury vacation apartments put you right in the neighborhood, so it isn't necessary to have a car. If you do decide to venture out to a far away location, there are plenty of taxis and an easy-to-use bus system.

When you walk Haight Street, you will have a shopping experience unlike any you've ever had before. One-of-a-kind clothing boutiques and locally owned shops, like the large independent record store Amoeba Music, line this historic street. With great bars and interesting, delicious restaurants, a booming nightlife is also close by the Haight Ashbury vacation apartments.

""Children Aren't Left Out of the Fun""

Haight Ashbury is also great for families with children. The nearby Golden Gate Park has museums, gardens, and a lake that rents out paddle boats and row boats. To the east is Buena Vista Park, with playgrounds, tennis courts and hills with excellent views. Kids will also enjoy one of the many aquariums within close proximity.

The San Francisco vacation rentals are also great for those families looking for a more laid-back vacation. Haight Ashbury is near many movie theaters and kid-friendly restaurants.
