"We were looking for an affordable, comfortable, convenient place for a family of 4 adults to explore the city while there for a wedding. Coming from a mid-size East Coast city (Buffalo, which is pretty hip in its own right) we were hoping to immerse ourselves in the authentic San Francisco culture. We got that! The apartment itself was quaint, clean, and comfortable. The fresh flowers were a kind touch. There was a food and wine shop in the building, which was quite convenient. Location was residential, across from a local grade school, and a short walk to public transportation. We were within walking distance to an eclectic array of restaurants, shops, and coffee cafes. Decor was a mix of mid-century, art deco, and modern art; a whimsical mix that seemed to work well. But most notable was the lovely patio! A very private deck surrounded by large potted tropical plants and found objects, including a peeing boy fountain. I would describe this space as shabby chic. The combination worked to create a very engaging space to enjoy breakfast or evening glass of wine. Jay, the owner, has a quirky eye, and horticultural finesse. We absolutely loved chilling out there! Only disappointment was that Jay, our host, was out of town during our time there. We had hoped to be able to hobnob with one of the natives. Even in his absence though, Jay provided excellent suggestions and insights. He was very attentive to our needs, offered insider tips, and periodically checked in to make sure all was well. Much appreciated! His friend Michael filled in nicely and was there to greet us upon arrival. This property is best suited for two adults. We knew we were pushing the limit with 4 adults (one dad and three adult kids). Two slept on the air mattress provided. Nonetheless, our experience was comfortable and memorable. Thanks for the memories!"
