  • Great condo, great location, hepful owner, nice clean, spacious apartment and comfy beds throughout

"We stayed for 5 nights and loved it. (Just not long enough) Considering we had 2 young adults who are sometimes hard to please. /but they were happy and enjoyed going out on their own, exploring every morning and night before we did our standard sightseeing together. This condo has everything you will need. Fully stocked kitchen, nice and roomy with updated and new appliances and dishes. (NIce pots too!) The whole unit is very inviting and we loved staying here so much that we are definitely planning on coming back. The beds where comfy, the heater worked great and we had lots of room everywhere. You could walk up to Coles tower if you like a nice challenge and rewarding views. We did it and walked to the Golden gate park to explore a new area every day. We strolled through all the neighborhood streets which are inviting and save with many wonderful restaurants and bars. You can get your morning Chai/coconut tea or coffee just a few steps out the door. There is a little doggie park 1 block from apartment which we found convenient. Whole Foods and another small organic store are within 5 min. walking so we where able to get all our grocerie needs easy during our morning strolls. Thank you Ted for all your service, answering all our questions quickly and kindly and letting us stay in your lovely home. it was a wonderful vacation that will always remember fondly. We hope to be back someday."

  • Great location

"As stated in other reviews, this place is all about the location. North Beach is an outstanding neighborhood with many good local restaurants and clubs. We ate at several of the nearby restaurants, had coffee and pastries each morning at the coffee houses, tried some gelato, etc, etc. We walked to literally all of the the attractions - the wharf, pier, boat dock to Alcatraz, Chinatown, Lombard St, cable cars, etc. Coit tower is steps (steep steps of course) away. Shopping for groceries was also convenient with Safeway and Trader Joe's a relatively short distance. We did choose to rent a car for several day trips out of the city and paid for the onsite garage space which was very convenient. But if you're just touring the sites in the city, don't bother with the car, you won't need it. There are several local rental car agencies if you decide to rent one at the last minute. I should mention we are a family of four with two teenagers. The space of the apartment was great for us. The owner was responsive to any question and there were no problems with the check-in process. This is an old building as you would expect in the heart of San Francisco. Use Google street view to look at the building and around the neighborhood. The pictures on the VRBO website are very accurate. The kitchen and bathrooms were recently updated and clean which was very important to us. I did not give five stars for the following, easily correctable I should add, reasons: First, the living room rug and chair were filthy. As in disgusting to the point that we threw a blanket over the chair before we would sit on it. Second, the window in the bedroom that is near back porch did not have a lock. There was a burglar stop, but the window still opened about 8 - 10 inches which is enough to unsettle a teenage girl. Quite frankly, for the nightly rate we paid I would not have expected to have to point those things out. Again, we would have given the fifth star if not for the issues above."

  • Attractive, comfortable and close to Golden Gate Park

"We enjoyed our time at this condo. It was quiet, clean and in a safe neighborhood. Our introduction and orientation were provided by Victoria, who was awesomely helpful in her enthusiastic advice and information. We walked many times into Golden Gate park and enjoyed the Botanical Garden and the California Academy of Science. The nearby and convenient public transit system on the NJudah or the buses allowed us to get into the city without driving hassles. Nearby grocery shopping was convenient. Would recommend this property to friends and relatives. The ethernet and cable TV worked very well, the wifi faded away from the street. There are laundry facilities in the garage level that are pay as you use machines. There is a laptop and printer provided in one of the bedrooms."

  • Great apartment!

"We recently stayed for over two weeks in Mary's apartment, and thoroughly enjoyed it. It is in an excellent location, five minutes walk from the Noe Valley shops at 24th Street, and a bus stop that takes you straight up Castro Street and to the street cars into town at Market Street. The apartment is two floors up from the ground level, and overlooks a quiet street. parking is usually not a problem within a block or two. Although quite compact, the apartment is actually bigger than it looks in the photos on the website. In particular it has an older style built in wardrobe that is quite spacious. it is well laid out for one person or a couple. The apartment is in the older style, but has charm and is spotlessly clean. No dishwasher or clothes washer and drier, but the latter is no problem, because you can either use a laundry service or walk half a block to a very good and cheap corner laundry. Mary is very pleasant and obliging. The few very small issues and queries that we had were resolved promptly. All in all, an excellent experience. We have already recommended this apartment to family and friends travelling through San Francisco."
