  • Quiet residential neighborhood, good value!

"This studio met our need for a safe, quiet place in SF with access to public transit at a reasonable price. John, the owner, was easy to work with and responded promptly to messages. The studio is small, as reflected in the pictures, and not conducive to sitting around watching TV for long stretches (though there is a small TV to match the studio) - but we didn't go to the city to do that! The sense of security, location in a quiet residential neighborhood, and good value made up for the small space. The studio was clean, nicely furnished, and well-maintained. We had no problem finding long-term parking on another quiet nearby street, which was necessary because of daytime restrictions on the street the unit is located on. There were several good eateries and a couple of small grocers very close by, making it easy to find what we needed when we didn't want to venture out of the neighborhood. We had a wonderful dinner at a casual place called Pomelo, and great inexpensive Chinese food at Henry's, both within a block or two of the studio. Access to downtown via transit, and the nearby Mission and Castro districts was also convenient."

  • A lovely place to stay!

"My husband and I came to stay in California with our two teenage boys for one month and found this the perfect place to be. The house is very nicely decorated and has plenty of space; apart from a chicken and a cozy living room, there are 3 bedrooms and two separate bathrooms, one on each floor. The back garden is lovely. Our boys were especially happy with the large flat screen TV in the living room (another TV is in the bedroom downstairs). The house is on a quiet street but still in the middle of a thriving neighborhood with lots of good restaurants and bars. A large supermarket is just a 3-minute-walk away. Bus stations are basically around the corner, the tram is a few blocks away, and the nearest Bart station (24th street) within a 10-minute reach. The hosts are extremely nice and kind. When travelling to the US from Europe, we missed our connecting flight and arrived very late in the evening, but the host was still waiting for us and made us feel very comfortable. He explained everything patiently, but was careful not to linger, because he immediately saw that we were tired; he assisted us during our stay whenever we had questions over the phone or via email. We could not have thought of a better place to stay, and can thus wholeheartedly recommend it. It is great for families with little children or teenagers, for a group of friends, or generally for everybody who wants to stay in SF for a little longer than just overnight."

  • Oh wow

"We enjoyed this place a lot. The place is big, very clean, comfy bed (pillows could use an upgrade), well equipped with fridge, stove, etc, has a large bathroom. It is nicely located in a quiet part of a lively North Beach / Little Italy area. Plenty of public transport to go anywhere you want. Walking distance of Coit Tower, Chinatown, Fisherman Wharf. Shop on trendy Grant St, stop at Greco's for the best gelato this side of America. Friendly owner, discreet and there to greet you when you arrive. Lots of visitor / tourists books to browse. Last note: the area is hilly, very hilly. Be prepared :-)."

  • We adored Mission Manor

"We rented this home for a bachelorette party of all women ages 29-39, 8 total women. The house was gorgeous and spacious, super clean, with fresh paint and plenty of room for all of us. We did have to bunk together 2 per bed, but beds were either king or queen, I'd not recommend the "extra" couch/futon....super uncomfy even to sit, on but they did have a mattress topper, we just didn't need it. The best part of this house for all these women were the three total bathroom room areas, so two showers could be going at the same time with no suffering of hot water. We kept the windows open the whole trip and the home was crisp and cool. The area is great, a 2.5 block walk from BART (we took airport to BART and walked with our suitcases) and what an eclectic but cute area. Susan met us downstairs and explained everything, Mission Manor even had a list of places/maps/ and tons of extra keys. Some of my favorites about the place was the "breakfast" they left us. FEAST it should have been and we munched on it the entire time! Giant crossants and coffee, and bagels and cream, it was such a welcome touch! There is a safeway or a bi-rite in the area with amazing food and delicious wine, so we were set for our visit! Oh the other favorite is the house has all clean and fresh linens/sheets, but also little extras like shampoo/conditioner/lotion and great brands for when you inevitably forget something like this! The Mission Manor area itself is fun and eclectic, we ate at Monk's Corner, and We Be Sushi (highly recommend and so cheap) got some pizza up the street one night, and went out to dive bars one night. Ok, real late at night I imagine it can get a little sketchy, but we always felt safe and LOVED the whole experience. Susan and Karen communicated info throughout the entire process and refunded my security deposit back quickly after our visit. The entire Mission Manor experience ROCKED and I'd definitely recommend them! They have great info like how to get to and from the area on various modes of transportation, and what a great location. Thanks so much!"
