  • The best: stunning views, gorgeous home, everything you could ask for

"I highly recommend this rental to anyone looking for a vacation or a longer term stay in San Francisco. We've rented many places, some of them quite outstanding, but this one is the best. It's the perfect combination of everything: a lovely, heritage San Francisco building that has been completely rebuilt to current earthquake standards, with an impeccably appointed interior, top-quality appliances, and an expansive roof deck with a view of the bay, Alcatraz and Coit Tower that was better than the view from some popular tourist sites. It is close to cafes, interesting places to wander, and shopping. It's spotlessly clean, the beds are comfortable and the kitchen has all you need to serve gourmet meals. The owner, Ray, is a genuinely wonderful host who made us feel like family. He welcomed us with fresh flowers and an assortment of snacks and during the tour of his home, it became clear that he had thought lovingly about every detail that he put into it, including the pretty spectacular sound system. The home, which is a single family dwelling with three bedrooms and two and a half bathrooms, is like a five star hotel, with lovely art on the walls and an airy, artsy feel. But it's much better than a hotel because it really does feel like a home - very comfortable and welcoming. There are bookcases next to the gas fireplace abundantly filled with a pretty amazing selection of books. We are bookworms and picked this place partly for its proximity to City Lights bookstore, but we could have spent the entire week just reading the books in those cases. The roof deck has a number of outdoor sofas and chairs and it's a great place for snoozing with a book or for a lively family board game. Part of it is always shaded, and part seems to always be in the sun. Two of the bedrooms are on the floor below the deck, with a large, very modern and elegant bathroom. The rooms are well soundproofed. The main level has the kitchen, family room (gorgeous) and a toilet. The lower level has a guest suite perfect for parents or teens, with its own full bathroom. It also has a separate laundry room with washer and dryer. Again, tastefully elegant but in an unfussy way. This location is near transit and we found it easy to see the city with a bus pass. It's a wonderful neighbourhood for cafes and every morning we picked up espresso and fresh baking on Columbus. This home has wonderful space for family time but offers plenty of options for privacy, too. Truly wonderful!"

  • Great Stay in the Mission

"The apartment was well set up - fully equipped, clean and well maintained. Easy access to the BART and other transit. It was a very comfortable place and the bonus was the washer/dryer - since we needed clean clothing during this leg of our holiday. Would highly recommend."

  • Bright and vibrant apartment

"My mother and I stayed in this amazing apartment for one month and absolutely loved it! The apartment has stunning views of the marina, bay, and Golden Gate Bridge-- there's an even better view from the the rooftop, which you have access to as well. This could be one of the best views in the whole city, the Bridge is totally unobstructed. The apartment itself is bright and cheery, beautifully decorated with all necessary amenities. There is one bedroom, but the two couches in the living room can easily sleep two more (if only temporarily). The location is great, within walking distance of Russian Hill/Chinatown/North Beach. Would absolutely recommend this apartment, clean, beautiful, great views, and good location. Communication with the apartment owner is easy and straightforward, and most of all, very accommodating."

  • Great North Beach location and owner readily available

"Description and photos spot on. Owner replied quickly with any questions. Family trip of 5 from 17 years to 62 and everyone was happy. Would definitely rent this flat again. We only used our feet for transportation (well except to Golden gate park one day, Science and art and tea, oh my) to Grace Cathedral on Nob Hill(wow), City Hall with many happy wedding parties, check out the court of appeals building that survived 2 earthquakes, fancy schmancy shopping at Union square, Chinatown just a few blocks away, film crew was around the corner one morning at Coit Tower. Great food nearby but also Trader Joe's not far away. We got poured on and had beautiful fresh sunshine too but the rain didn't really matter, we had a fabulous time"
