  • Perfect Location to Explore San Francisco

"My two girlfriends and I were looking for a quick, easy escape from Vancouver and couldn't have picked a better location than this rental in Hayes Valley. We are quite active and really enjoyed being able to easily walk almost anywhere in San Francisco. The two-block proximity to wonderful boutiques, wine bars and delicious restaurants and cafes was wonderful. The unit is very quiet, located away from the street. The charming garden path and small patio were very beautiful. The large kitchen was great and there's a small food market located a few minutes away, with a giant Whole Foods located about a ten minute walk from the apartment. Although it sounds minor, the amount of towels was great for us young women. As well, the owners made checking in and checking out very clear and were wonderfully easy to get a hold of. It was more than enough room for three of us. I would recommend this spot to anyone visiting San Francisco."

  • We loved our stay here, felt like home.

"We loved our stay in this house because it felt like home, very comfortable. The view of downtown is fantastic! The neighborhood is great (close to Whole Foods). The dedicated parking space is nice. We left the car parked because using the buses was convenient with several lines going right by. The house isn't fancy, but completely comfortable, like a very pleasant place to live. The cat, Big Guy, was instantly friendly. My daughter did not want leave him! One thing that was exceptional about renting this home was the generosity of Scott, who seemed genuinely happy to share his food and drinks. What a great host!"

  • Would stay here again!

"As other reviewers have stated, the photos don't do this apartment justice. It is roomy and was perfect for our family of two adults and two upper teen boys. The boys stayed on the futons that the owner had already made into beds when we arrived. It was clean, the closet had ample hangers, and the owners were helpful and available. There was street noise, but, hey, this is the city and we were still able to sleep. If you are driving to this apartment, note that free street parking is available, but you may have to drive around for a while to find it, and walk a few blocks. We felt safe leaving our car on the street overnight. The downside of having a car was that daytime free street parking requires that you park for only two hours. We had to drive our car to a parking garage near our daily destination and weren't able to take advantage public transportation. This apartment is a great find."

  • Perfect return visit with grandchildren

"About three years ago we were here for a week with our 13 y/o grandsons. When we decided to bring our granddaughters for their San Francisco vacation, there was no question as to where to stay. The apartment is beautifully appointed and immaculately clean, the beds supremely comfortable, and the neighborhood quiet but with lively 24th St just one block away, with its Whole Foods, shops, and eateries. The "J" trolley, two blocks away, brings you downtown to Powell Station and the cable cars in 22 minutes. Phyllis, who lives downstairs, is a kind, helpful, but unobtrusive host. We have one more pair of yet younger grandchildren. Guess where we hope to stay again in a few years! One hint: It paid to spend a little extra for a parking space, which Phyllis arranged."
