  • Fabulous but...

"Beautiful studio set in redwoods of mill valley. We were very comfortable and easy getting around area. Big problem for us - we have AT&T and had a lot of trouble w reception. Otherwise great little place."

  • Comfy, cozy, well situated - with one drawback

"We spent a lovely 4 days/3 nights at Lone Fir Cottage. Eleanore, the owner, was very responsive and helpful. The cottage is cozy and quiet, surrounded by oaks, with partial ridge views. Wonderfully located, practically inside Pt Reyes National Seashore and a short drive to Point Reyes Station. The spacious hot tub (a highlight) was relaxing and therapeutic after long daily hikes. Remodeled bath is nicely appointed. Plenty of linens. Beds not new but comfortable. Books, puzzles, DVD player kept us entertained in the evenings, plus wi-fi, which we appreciated. Did not use the fireplace, as it was warm so we did not need it. The one negative: the kitchen is really not adequate and the mini refrigerator is too small, even for just two adults. We tried using our coolers but food spoiled anyway. There's a gas grill on the deck, but we did not use it due to our short stay and concerns about storing raw ingredients and leftovers. This might not be a big deal to others, but for us it really detracted from an otherwise enjoyable stay."

  • Still quaint and rustic

"This was our second stay here and not much has changed. It was only a couple of days notice so it's nice that it's available for folks from the Bay Area who want to overnight in the area. The only sort of negative was that there were six or seven fly strips hanging down from the ceilings in the living room and kitchen with dead flies right at about face level. Not the sort of thing that someone wants to walk into."

  • Great apartment, great location, great ammenities

"The pictures on this website do not do the apartment justice. This place is much bigger than it appears in the pictures. It has everything you need and more. Being able to use the front patio is a huge bonus and there's so much seating up there for everyone. Definitely a great place to stay."
