  • Great Place and Great Owner

"We stayed here over Labor Day weekend and had a great time. There were 4 adults, which was doable with the pullout in the living room, but definitely a little snug. However, the apartment was very sunny and comfortable and we really enjoyed it. The location is great, just a 5-10 minute walk to Bart and close to Valencia which has great shopping, restaurants. Melinda was helpful and responsive to any questions I had and getting access to the apartment was super simple with the lockbox (even though we arrived at 3am). Definitely recommend this place!"

  • An Experienced VRBO Customer ( over 15 rentals with VBRO)

"I had a super time at Holly's Cottage in Walnut Creek during my six week stay. It is located within walking distance to Downtown Walnut Creek, Safeway & Bart. The Unit is well maintained and Holly will do anything (within reason) to make your stay comfortable. You are also within walking distance to a very nice Farmers Market every Sunday Morning during the season. This property is one of the best I have rented and I speak from experience having rented more than 15 VRBO properties"

  • Great Place to Host Small Groups

"I happen to live the neighborhood and went looking for a place we could gather a group of 10 software developers together for a two week planning and sprint session, and this house worked out great. The three upstairs bedrooms held the visiting folks, while the downstairs has both a large dining area and a large living room so you can move groups around to have separate discussions as well as hold full group sessions. The engineers loved not having to be at a hotel, and the back deck has a nice large outside table for those sunny days that CA has to offer which was great. And the kitchen allowed us to set up and cook several team dinners for up to 16 people at the house using the great local College Avenue shops for stocking the pantry. And, if you don't want to cook, well College Ave has almost any kind of restaurant food you want, or you could simply take BART 20-30 minutes into San Francisco for food, theater, and tourist attractions. The house is literally 2+ blocks from the Rockridge BART so most days folks could get to the house without a car, although there was enough parking on the street if you did happen to have one. This was helpful for when we stocked the house on the initial day, and for when people came for group dinners. With the development team, we did slow down the house network with 10 folks working on some days, but were able to get our work done. For a family, I don't think this would be a problem, and it really was not a problem for us. Wireless access at good network speeds was included with the rental. The owner lives on the property in a private room upstairs which was never a conflict, and we got to say hello now and again when she walked her dog Mable or let her cat Scooter out. Her daughter and son live nearby, and the family has been in the area for many years so if you have any questions, they would be a great resource. Would recommend the property for its great location and ability to gather a group or large family at the home easily."

  • Lush and Enchanting Retreat

"The bridal party and I spent two nights here after my wedding and it was phenomenal. First off, Patty was a wonderful hostess; prompt replies, friendly, and above all accommodating. But the true star of the property was the gardens. Photos cannot capture this type of beauty... We arrived late at night and instantly had to explore. They go on and on, with meandering trails intersecting intimate seating alcoves and trickling fountains. Such a beautiful backyard retreat to relax after a stressful few months! The next morning we had a caterer prepare a brunch. It was a perfect day playing croquet and bocce on the large lawn while feasting on the patio. I cannot comment enough on how wonderful this home was, but what truly made it special was that our dog could be there too!! Patty, thank you for letting us share your magical home and giving us these memories we will be sure to cherish for the rest of our lives!"
