"This was the second time I stayed at "The Cabin in the Woods" and I plan on coming back a couple times a year. The house is absolutely lovely and has everything you need for the perfect vacation. I grew up in Trinity County and there is nothing better than coming home. The last trip was over the 4th of July and we had 10 people ranging from 2 years-old up to 78 years-old and everyone was comfortable and happy in the cabin. It is a short 10 minutes into Weaverville and 10 minutes to Halena (our favorite swimming hole). I got the pleasure of meeting Mark the owner and am thankful he is willing to share his home. I would recommend this to all my friends and family and hope you will enjoy this beautiful spot in the future."

"We rented this charming cabin from June 24th to 28th of 2015. It was a cute and cozy cabin. The living room and dining room were comfortable and cozy, kitchen was well stocked and the bedrooms were spacious. The view of the Trinity River was incredible. The weather was extremely hot outside so stayed indoor more to stay cool. We saw deer and geese. It was very quiet and relaxing. However, we weren't prepared for many mosquito bites early mornings and during the evenings. The mattress in the master room could have been more firmer. My husband was disappointed that he didn't catch much fish but got only few bites. Overall, it was an enjoyable mini vacation for our family."

"We met some friends at this home and were pleasantly surprised with the accommodations. The house was spotless and looked exactly like the pictures on the website. We met Ashley and Ken and feel like we have two new friends! They seem to have found that balance between making themselves available to answer your questions, and respecting your privacy to allow you to experience the magic of your surroundings. Watching deer feed on the property, exploring the private road below the home, listening to the wind in the trees and the chatter of birds was very 'grounding' after living in the hustle and bustle of the city. It was difficult to leave that tranquility and we will definitely put it on our places to return!"

"I was planning a surprise fishing trip for my boyfriend's 40th and could not have been happier with this rental! A very clean and well loved house I can't think of a single thing we were unhappy about. As the other renters have already stated, Rene was wonderful to work with and had music playing upon our arrival. His house is in the perfect location to make a day trip at Bucks Lake or to grab a bite to eat in the sweet town of Quincy. As we were packing our things up, we were already talking about when we might be able to return and hopefully for a longer stay (we stayed 4 days and wish we could have stayed a couple more days)! If you are looking for a place to escape to, enjoy the company of a loved one, fish and hike or sit on a deck and listen to a babbling brook...this is the place for you. Thank you Rene for renting your house out to us, it was perfect!"
