"I was planning a surprise fishing trip for my boyfriend's 40th and could not have been happier with this rental! A very clean and well loved house I can't think of a single thing we were unhappy about. As the other renters have already stated, Rene was wonderful to work with and had music playing upon our arrival. His house is in the perfect location to make a day trip at Bucks Lake or to grab a bite to eat in the sweet town of Quincy. As we were packing our things up, we were already talking about when we might be able to return and hopefully for a longer stay (we stayed 4 days and wish we could have stayed a couple more days)! If you are looking for a place to escape to, enjoy the company of a loved one, fish and hike or sit on a deck and listen to a babbling brook...this is the place for you. Thank you Rene for renting your house out to us, it was perfect!"

"It's been a couple of weeks since I stayed at this AWESOME cottage and I still wake up every morning with this place on my mind. I visit Plumas county every year because I lived there years ago and I like to stay in touch with old friends and remind myself that paradise does still exist. This time I ended up, unexpectedly, going by myself with my 2 dogs and was concerned about feeling too isolated or lonely but that worry was completely unfounded. The place is warm and charming, with trains going by in the evening, blowing their whistles and temporarily drowning out the sound of the water in the creek. Ceci, the owner, lives on the property and is the perfect hostess--there if you need her but leaves you alone if you don't! I actually only met her once when I arrived but she had left wine (good wine!) with a box of chocolates (very good chocolates!) on the kitchen table and from that point on, everything just got better. I brought a friend over from Quincy to swim (very nice swimming hole) and see the cottage and property and she was really impressed with the place as well--we had a great afternoon. Hiking the Cascade trail was recommended, which was very close and turned out to be the perfect hike (about 2 hours). I had to drive into town to use my cell phone and the internet (the library is great for that), which was the only drawback, since this was a working vacation for me but it was well worth the inconvenience--and there is a land phone at the cottage. I loved this place and hope to go back next year."

"We stayed at this home for 7 nights 7/23/15 through 7/29/15 while visiting family for my niece's wedding in Meadow Valley. What a treat. Our 3 grandsons had a blast, the home was just perfect and only 3 miles away from my sister. So much room, comfy beds, fantastic kitchen, quiet and private with glorious outdoor patios and balcony. Home was appropriately stocked with the essentials. Would definitely recommend to anyone. Raymond followed up with a call just as we arrived to make sure all was in order. Thank You Raymond!"

"Our stay was brief, but beautiful! We loved everything about our time spent there. The pictures here on VRBO don't quite capture the magic of this place. It was greater than we had expected, and we felt so fortunate to have discovered this property.
We were happy to meet the owner and chat briefly . He stopped by for a short time to refill the gas for the BBQ, and to bring us a portable AC unit. We felt that was incredibly accommodating considering we did not contact him with these requests. Thoughfully, there was firewood (including kindling) already placed near the fire pit for us. We were encouraged to enjoy the entire property.
Early in the morning, we watched a bear climbing in the trees across the river. We watched it for roughly an hour, as it dined on it's favorite leaves, and fell from branches.
The trains were wonderful! There were so many of them! They were not disruptive, rather they were soothing. Some of the trains that went by, caused the tracks to ring in a way that sounded similar to a meditation bowl. It was quite an experience, especially in the dark of the night.
We absolutely loved this cabin and hope to return and learn more about the property, and explore the surrounding areas. We also look forward to spending time getting to know the town of Quincy.
Thank you so much for sharing this with all of us!"
