  • Lovely house near everything

"My husband, brother, sister-in-law, and I, along with our dogs, stayed in this house for a long weekend at the end of July/early August. The space was really nice, clean and had everything we needed from linens to towels to kitchen needs. The deck in front is a great space to drink coffee in the morning and sit and chat with friends in the evening. The beds are comfortable and the linens are nice and soft. And, having good WiFi was a nice bonus. Due to the heat, and no air conditioning, we spent much of our time at Lake Siskiyou, which is absolutely gorgeous and fun! Mount Shasta is such a cute town and the views are amazing. Highly recommend this house rental and a trip to Mount Shasta! If you're thinking of brining dogs, you just need to keep in mind that there is no fenced-in area for them to roam free outside."

  • Best place I've stayed in McCloud area

"We have a group of friends that meet yearly for a guys weekend of fishing and story telling and have for the last 33 years. Usually we stay in Mt Shasta City but decided this year to stay in McCloud. It was the best decision I have made in a long time because I found this place to stay for this years trip. It is just perfect for our needs, and if your traveling with your family it will sleep 6 very comfortably and each bedroom has it's own bathroom. The range/oven is huge and impressive, it is well stocked (although we didn't need to use anything because....well we are guys we ate out). We arrived earlier than we expected and wanted to fish and had too much stuff in our truck to put in the cab and wanted to drop the excess on the porch, I called the housekeeper and let her know what we were doing. She not only dropped the key off early, while we were fishing she pulled our stuff inside for us...just great treatment. Mimi the owner is super fast in all email replies and very accommodating...I will definitely be renting this house again..."

  • Immaculately clean; Exceptional host/hostess

"This property is so immaculately clean that the entire inside looks new. The kitchen was fully stocked and even included a tea maker. There was a bottle of wine, crackers and cheeses waiting for us. We were late arriving and hadn't stopped to pick up food for dinner, so I called and asked Felicia where we could stop to get either a prepared meal or food to prepare our own. She said nothing was open late within 30 miles, but she generously offered us burgers and hot dogs from her own freezer!! When we arrived, not only were the meats there, but she had supplied condiments even including tomato, onions and pickles! THEN, as if that weren't above and beyond, she had left side dishes for us as well! The deck is huge and includes 2 picnic tables, so we grilled our dinner and sat outside just enjoying the quiet and beauty. Al and Felicia had also left us a small turkey and cheese tray, which we packed and took with us for a picnic lunch at Lassen Volcanic Park (only about 10 minutes away). Bring your food with you because there are no grocery stores here (only small camp-type stores). It is a beautiful area, better because there is little commercialism. Also nearby, about 2 miles, are lava tubes that can be independently explored by flashlight like a cave. Al and Felicia recommended JJ Café, only about a mile away, for breakfast. Breakfast was delicious--homemade fried potatoes, bakery or homemade bread for toast. There is no internet, but our hosts left a supply of DVDs for evening entertainment. The showers were great--each of us showered every morning one right after the other and did not run out of hot water. The beds are very firm. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. My adult son and daughter spoke of Felicia as "like having a grandmother who pampers us.""

  • A Solid Vacation Rental

"Our family trip to Cassel was easy and hassle free. The house was set up with everything we needed when we arrived. It seemed well stocked with some essentials. They had even turned on the AC that morning which made it very pleasant since we arrived at the warmest part of the day. The reservations and communications with the owner were easy. There were only a few drawbacks but they were minor. The pool was over chlorinated and the pool sweeper wasn't removed. We had to pull out the floating chlorine pods and swim around the pool sweep hose. While the inside of the house was fairly clean, the garage was not very tidy and had an incredible amount of spider webs. Again, not a deal breaker since it's the garage. Lastly, the fridge needs replacing/repair. The ice maker was loud enough to wake a lighter sleeper. Overall, our experience was positive and I would recommend this property to others."
