"For two couples and a dog, this place had just about anything you would need. It's clean and well maintained, and we enjoyed our stay. The part that irritated all of us was the "Must Do" list prior to check-out we received just prior to our departure. None of it was mentioned in the rental contract. And, honestly, there was very little on the list that was offensive..., well maybe washing and drying the sheets was a little much. What was irritating was his fee structure: $15 if you don't start the dishwasher; $35 if you don't wash the sheets; another $15 if you don't dry the sheets, and many others. Since we paid by check and there was no deposit, the owner would have a hard time collecting, but the idea of these outrageous fees made us want to not do any of it. In the end, we did those things he listed, but only because we thought it was the right thing to do, not because of his ridiculous fines. Right below the list of fines, he writes in bold letters, "Please leave me some feedback on VRBO when you can." Well, here it is. I suggest you dump your list of fees except possibly the "excessive cleaning fee" which should be inclusive of the other items you list."Guest: Jerry Date of Stay: October 2014 Review Submitted: October 17, 2014View listing
"My wife and I stayed in cabin number 3. We fished, floated down the river, hiked, swam, and enjoyed the beautiful scenery. Dunsmuir is only 10 minutes away. Mt. Shasta is only 20 minutes a way. Fly fishing - caught over 10 rainbow trout fish. We used the guide service Red Hackle Guide Service. Ask for Brian. Overall, we will be coming back."Guest: Jet setter Date of Stay: August 2014 Review Submitted: August 24, 2014View listing
"Our stay was terrific. Not only is the house close to downtown, you are minutes away from all the lakes in the Lakes Basin area. The house is very comfortable."Guest: Jeffrey B. Date of Stay: August 2014 Review Submitted: August 17, 2014View listing
"We just returned home today after spending a week in this absolutely lovely home located in the Lake Almanor Country Club. Since there were only 3 of us (we, the parents and our adult daughter), we were looking for something smaller. We rented this home because it fit our needs, including having a window air conditioner. Truth be told, my husband, who grew up going to Lake Alamanor, was extremely nervous that I chose this home. He thought it looked old and a little run down. Once we arrived, all of his fears disappeared. This home is absolutely beautiful. It has vaulted ceilings and windows that face the trees and a decent, yet gorgeous view of the lake. Everything, and I mean everything (except food) has been provided. Cooking utensils, a wide variety of pots and pans, plates, glasses, etc is on hand. Lots of towels, blankets, sheets and pillows are provided, too. Beds, the sofas and easy chair are very comfortable. We only used it for a couple of hours, but they now have a flat-screened t.v. But, the best part was the cleanliness. This home was immaculate. No matter where I'm staying, I always travel with wipes so I can clean our lodging the moment we arrive. I didn't even pull out one wipe when we arrived and I did my inspections. We also appreciated the well-placed instructions throughout the house. They were useful without being obtrusive. We will DEFINITELY be coming back to the Plummers. It felt like our home away from home and no one wanted to leave."Guest: Wittman Date of Stay: July 2014 Review Submitted: July 13, 2014View listing
