"Sow's Ear is rustic, comfortable and just plain fun !! The view is wonderful and Heidi and Steph add so much to your stay. Heidi provides an information packet in advance that answers ALL questions and one or the other of them is there to greet you - along with Scudder, Biscuit and numerous cats.
Heidi and Steph have an adventure company that allows you to rent (quite reasonably) SUPs, kayaks, a large raft and all the necessary equipment - plus their expertise !
The five of us range from 73 to 10 years old and we all had a grand time."

"Greg and Brenda were so welcoming from the very first email interaction to the final goodbye of our stay. Their property is so tranquil and peaceful and beautiful. Just what we needed as a family to re-connect and get our blood pressure down 20 points from life's stresses. The Lake with the Mountain backdrop is like out of a painting and it is visible in every step of their beautiful rental cabin. Can't say enough wonderful things about this place. We'll be back next year for certain !! See you soon! -The Twirbutt Family"

"We just returned from 4 wonderful nights at the Carriage House and Miners Cabin. Both equally wonderful.
The miners cabin is rustic but so comfortable with everything you could ask for. So nice to have a iPod player that fills the space with your personal tunes as well as providing headlamps for the nighttime frog explorer. As a builder, my husband loved all of the excellent craftsmanship that went into the cabin. For me, the windows upstairs in the loft (comfy queen bed) that looked directly into the evening sky and stars rocked my world!
The location of both properties are fantastic. Directly on the river where some guests were catching Steelhead right outside the cabin and watching the Salmon spawn.
Carriage house was bigger with more amenities. Yep, also nice. Many places to relax and just watch the river go by.
Never worry if you've forgotten something as Weaverville has all the amenities you could need. We needed a water filtration system so we wouldn't die of dehydration up on the trails and there was an outdoor store just waiting for us to stop by.
We specifically stayed here for access for the beautiful Trinity Alps. We hiked all three days (9b.dog included) topping out at 17 miles on the Canyon Creek trail. A definite 10 in every way and worth the effort every step of the way.
Don't miss stopping in at Diggins, the local watering hole. It is a true Weaverville experience. And do say hi to Sue!
Many thanks to the owners, Heidi and Steph, for providing such a wonderful experience for such a reasonable price. We will definitely be recommending ALL of their riverfront properties to our friends and family."

"I have stayed at many vrbo rentals in and out of California, and I can say that this is one of the best places that I have ever rented. I went there for a girl friends bachelorette party and it was perfect. The house was beautiful, organized, and very comfortable. The quality of layout and design was amazing, with such a perfect set up and such wonderful taste - it had everything we needed. The pool was a delight, with a stunning view overlooking the Trinity River. The trail to the river was well maintained and the private river access was a special treat.
It was so great that we stayed there the entire weekend (not leaving once), swimming in the pool, relaxing, drinking delicious cocktails, eating amazing food and spoiling our bride to be. This place has something for everyone. I plan on going back in the future with friends and family (as did many of the ladies). Highly recommended!"
