  • Great Family Vacation Spot

"This is a great cabin for a family vacation - very relaxing and low key. It is conveniently located across from the Rec center which hosts a bunch of different activities for kids and families: movie night, swim, pickle ball, and tennis lessons. Unfortunately, this year the water levels were not great for swimming. The property managers are wonderful and VERY helpful and responsive. Clean and comfy, but bare bones amenities so be prepared for a low tech experience:no dishwasher, only one bathroom on the ground floor (not easy for little ones during the night), WiFi intermittent, no telephone (cell service sketchy), and TV not positioned in a place for easy group viewing of movies. Although possible to do day trips/hikes to Lassen National Park, it is a good 1 hour away from the entrance of the park -- so its a long day of driving."

  • SECOND VISIT TO THIS LOFT EVEN BETTER THAN THE FIRST, AND NO SNOW BUT STILL GREAT

"We needed to get away from the Bay Area, and hoped for snow in the midst of drought at Ms. Shasta; no snow! BUT, this wonderful large loft apartment with everything a family of 4 or two couples could ask for, made up for no snow; we got directions to ice skating and sledding, found trails through the owner's good auspices, and felt very much at home, as if we lived there for a long time. John is now more a friend after the second visit, and was welcoming to our own friends who visited us there. The place is a perfect version of private and secluded with someone hiding just far away to not be noticed; but if you call or e mail, 5 minutes later John shows up with a humidifier or extension cord, and is somehow a host without any intrusion. This location is perfect for the mountains and lakes of California, 3 hours from SF, and we'll be coming back for a break for years to come. K"

  • Awesome house

"We loved our stay at this lovely house in a beautiful, quiet neighborhood nested among the pines. The layout of the house works well, with a large great room in the center of the bedrooms bringing everyone together. Great patio and barbecue area as well. I wish we could have stayed longer!"

  • From fog city

"This was our second time staying here. It is perfect for our family of 5. Our first say the kids were about 7 to 12 years in age and we took them ice skating and sledding. This trip they are 15 to 20 and couldn't stay off the slopes of Mt. Shasta. The house had everything we needed. Very clean, comfortable and down to earth. The washer and dryer was a plus, we could dry all our wet clothes. The neighborhood was quit and clean. It is a great location, just minutes away from Mt. Shasta for down hill and x-country skiing and sledding. The town of Mt. Shasta is 15 minutes away where they have an outdoor ice rink with an incredible view of Mt. Shasta. We have to come back in Summer and check out the river."
