"We've rented several cabins over the last several years, often with disappointment. Battle Creek Retreat exceeded all expectations. There are so many things we appreciate and love about this sweet cabin. It is Clean!! The beds are super comfy. The kitchen is well stocked and has a large refrigerator ( we bring most of our own groceries, however we always order pizza in Shingletown our first night. Good pizza, great salad.)The large floor plan of the cabin is very appealing and comfortable. I particularly enjoyed morning reading and coffee in the sun room as well as the deck off the master. The two outdoor patio areas are Martha Stewart level lovely. The grounds are well kept. The home is steeped in family tradition and it's clear it's been well loved and cared for.
This was our 4th visit to Mt Lassen and while we returned to some favorite spots we're still experiencing new adventures. This year we hiked the Cinder Cone, Eco Lake, Terrace Lake, The Meadow Trail, The Peak and Bumpass Hell. We returned to Burney Falls and stopped along the road by the rushing creek to have lunch, relax and see the fishermen catch some nice fish. We always kayak in Lake Summit. This year we were able to experience a hosted night sky observation event staffed with experienced astronomers. It was a fantastic to use their high powered telescopes.
To summarize, the owners well maintain the cabin, are very responsive to questions, I highly recommend this cabin and can't wait to return."

Beautiful house directly on the Sacramento River slept 15 very comfortably!
"Sandy and Paul were wonderful to work with and didn't bat an eye when I asked if 15 people could sleep there comfortably. The kitchen is gorgeous and easy to prepare meals in. The house is full of Sandy's paintings which adds a personal touch. The landscaping is beautiful, but being on the river and watching the sunrise on the master bedroom deck was the best!"

"The house welcomes you with plenty of Lillies and Bass, slightly quirky, entertaining, and tastefully done. More importantly, it's comfortable clean and so peaceful .. but close enough to facilities for convenience too. The beds were too comfortable, and potential outdoor enjoyment was curtailed by the consequential lie-ins. Great kitchen, lots of equipment, and visiting deer to enjoy outside the window. Absolutely just right!"

"This owner provides so many ways to have fun, especially for teenagers. There are tons of DVDs, pool table, ping pong, foosball, hot tub, and of course the swimming hole in the creek behind the house. We loved the open floor plan so everyone felt included in the group even while cooking or watching movies. She had a whole house fan installed while we were there, although we didn't need it during our stay. The house stayed very pleasant with the fans going. You can contact her through email to solve any issue, but not phone or text. In case you must have it, Wifi was not always working. She may change that soon. It is a delightful place to relax. We really enjoyed our stay!"
