  • Loved it.

"We very much enjoyed our stay. The place is dripping in history, (creamery in 1890s, prospective bootlegging location in 20s!) Mary Jane and her son in law met us to give us advice and ideas. The place is really right on the water and you have a continuous "show" of fishing boats, birds (Ack! We watched Hitchcock's "The Birds" and tried to scare ourselves), seals, etc., right out the window. We managed to launch kayaks right off the side deck (you have to time the tides,) drove the coast (amazing free beaches great for photography), ate at the harbor, went into Bodega, watched crabbers on Doran beach, etc. It was fun to be there during crab season to see all the activity. The 2 bedroom is plenty roomy enough for my husband and me and our two teenaged daughters. The age of the building gives this a quaint feel with wide stairwell and odd angles to the ceilings. Nice beds, plenty of towels, etc. I would warn anyone staying anywhere in Bodega Bay...you do not have a "real" grocery store nearby, so getting what you want is higher in price and you may not get the "brand" you love. But it would totally destroy the visit if there was a Raleys or Bel Air! I rate this place a 5. It is not the Ritz, but I don't want to stay at the Ritz. I want to stay in a place where I can relax and enjoy."

  • Great Place near Bodega Bay

"My wife and I, and our 2.5 yr old son had a wonderful weekend at the Sojourn by the Sea. We have a place in Lake Tahoe that we rent, and we where immediately impressed by how welcoming the Sojourn is. The fireplace setup for a fire, water in the fridge, etc. Its all the little touches that make a stay special and the owners do an amazing job of it. The location is fabulous as you have a great view of the ocean and Salmon Creek from the kitchen, living room and deck. An easy walk to the beach. We where on the beach when we discovered our son was sick, so we brought him back to the house for rest, thinking our day was partly ruined. But we discovered just sitting on the deck and reading a book turned out to be just as relaxing if not more then the beach. This is place is great and we look forward to renting this place again. Thanks Mary Jill & Bruce."

  • Great stay for a family

"We had four adults and three children stay at the Full House Farm over the New Year week and it was a blast. Our kids (9, 6, and 3) really enjoyed the space and nature. Christine was wonderfully friendly and gave a very informative tour that our children are still talking about. They all wanted to return next year."

  • Family get together

"Just a perfect place to stay. It is on the Russian River , and just a short drive to the Pacific, redwoods, and wine country. Out back is the Russian river with 2 pound + rainbow trout going by. All in the family think that they are gourmet cooks and the place is perfectly set up with all the cooking, grilling, and spices needed for your cooking needs. Only regret is that we did not have longer to visit, but hope to rectify that in the future. It was the third leg of a trip including Carmel, hiking in Yosemite, and relaxation on the Russian River. Great for a wide range of people from the active, to those who wish to relax and read a book."

Wine Country Travel Tips

California Wine Country Travel Gives You Access to World-class Wines

Beyond the beaches, if there is one thing for which the state of California is known, it is its wine country. Producing some of the finest wines in the world, the Napa and Sonoma regions of California are often at the top of wine enthusiasts' lists when it comes to California wine country travel. If you are looking for a vacation idea that is unique and different and may also help you learn just a bit more about this interesting industry, then come on over to California. The vineyards are welcoming, the wines are exceptional and the wine country vacation rentals and wine country lodging are simply luxurious.

A Bouquet of Options with California Wine Country Travel

California wine country is well-accustomed to visitors who want to sample their award-winning wines and tour the vineyards. As a result, you will find a host of wine country lodging options to suit your needs. Whether you need space for just one or two people or you are traveling with a larger group, the wine country vacation rentals in the area will meet your needs. After settling into your vacation home, it will be time to do some exploring. The vineyards in wine country range from small family-owned affairs to much larger vineyards. All of them have one thing in common and it is the hospitality they display to visitors. Most are happy to provide tours, offer samples, give lectures about the characteristics of their wines, and offer shops where you can purchase their products to take home.

Wine Country Vacation Rentals Are Your Connection to Fine Wines

When planning California wine country travel, keep in mind that it is a good idea to check with the local vineyards before you leave your wine country lodging. While most vineyards are all too happy to welcome guests, some vineyards have specific times at which they give tours and are not open to the public during other hours.

Experience It All with Wine Country Lodging

While your main interest may lie in touring the wineries and vineyards during your California wine country travel, keep in mind that there are many other sights to explore in the area as well, including fine shopping and dining opportunities not far from wine country vacation rentals.
