  • Outstanding!

"What can I say about Melony and Sidney’s wonderful house in Napa? We arrived in California from the East Coast, looking for a place to live, and rented their house for five months, a mixture of an initial retirement vacation and a house-hunting base. The house was a haven of calm, caringly decorated and equipped, right down to duvet-covered beds so comfortable that one is in danger of melting in them, along with luxury hotel-quality his- and her-bathrobes. Not so surprising, as Melony has been a top hotel manager in San Francisco, which is ecident throughout in the attention to detail and quality. Example – we asked if there was a kitchen scale, as we could not find it; within two days, one arrived from Amazon. I can’t think of a single thing that we could have wanted which was not there. José, gardener and maintenance guru, was totally reachable and accommodating, as well as being personable, competent and knowledgeable. He’s been grooming and nurturing the lovely garden for several decades, and it shows. His wife, Maria, waved her magic wand on the house and delivered it weekly in sparkling form, with sheets cleaned, laundry ironed, and dust banished. For those who want a month or more Wine Country vacation, the location is perfect, with all Napa Valley has to offer, or you are strategically placed to drive down beautiful Old Sonoma Road into Sonoma Valley. The VRBO description does not exaggerate, and Melony and Sidney deliver. Our expectations were high, but were exceeded. Not one single note was off key."

  • Great long weekend in Nape

"This house was perfect for 3 couples that wanted a long weekend in wine country. Plenty of room, so we never felt crowded in the house. The patio was great for relaxing after a day of wine tasting. Great location! Short walk to a nearby restaurant. Very clean home, with all the amenities we needed to walk right in and start our vacation. We go to Nape every 3 years, and this will be our new "go to" place when vacationing here."

  • Perfect home for family gatherings!

"This comfortable home served our family well during the week ]of our son's wedding activities in St. Helena. It was spacious inside and out, affordable, homey, near enough to town so you could walk or jog there which we did. The rooms were clean and had ample linens and kitchen equipment. It was mid-July and we had no air conditioning, which worried me, but with fans (I counted 8) and cool nights we were absolutely fine. The 4 bedrooms (2 twin beds, 2 queens, 1 double) and living room couch easily slept the 8-9 of us. Having 2.5 bathrooms was helpful with relatives of all ages staying there. We were attracted to the informality of the home. It is not fancy—not a new kitchen, no modern furniture, not “decorated.” The lovely camp-feel of the living room—with dark wood walls, floor to ceiling fireplace, leather furniture—made us nostalgic for a home in our past. This room easily held about 20 people eating brunch and watching the big screen TV for the World Cup Soccer Championships one morning. The pool was very clean and the owners provided all sorts of pool gear for young and old. We explored the nooks and crannies of the property and think people of all ages would enjoy it although we accompanied the younger kids because we didn’t know what they would find around each corner. The owner's agent was most helpful and responsive before, during and after our stay. I would definitely recommend this property to others. It felt like a well-loved home that had been in the family for a few generations and that they were loaning it to us for our stay and we appreciated the ease of staying here. Things we recommend in St. Helena: Wedding venue/Rust Ridge Ranch, Reception at The Farmstead Restaurant at Long Meadow Ranch, groceries at Sunshine Foods and Safeway, casual dinner at La Condesa downtown, take-out pizza from Tres Vigne, Heaven and Earth beauty parlor, visiting wineries, Charlies BBQ (caterers), Dean and Deluca (caterers), nearby Crane Park (good for large group picnic, for children’s equipment, bocce ball, tennis, Friday Farmer’s Market), hiking at Moore Creek Park. Have fun if you get to stay there and thanks to the owners!"
