The Purple Victorian is truly ADORABLE
"My wife and I are both retirees and have always enjoyed travelling. We spent August in California to escape the Alabama humidity and to feast on the California food, wine, and vistas. We tend to build our trips around one or more world class events and then branch out from there. For this trip, the central event was the Concours d'Elegance at Monterey on August 16. We stayed August 1-9 in Janet's Adorable Victorian and then August 9-23 at another VRBO property in Monterey. Our grown, married son sneaked away and joined us for 3 days in Napa and 4 in Monterey and he and I were able to play Pebble! We drove up and down Napa and Sonoma valleys, toured Sterling, Cakebread, and the "Castle" wineries, took the Wine Train, attended innumerable tastings, and ate incredible food while in Napa. The Adorable Purple Victorian was the perfect centerpiece for the Napa portion of our trip. We spent wonderful evenings grilling and lounging on the back porch and in the gazebo. We loved the fruit trees and gardens, too. Janet, my biggest logistical problem was that the porch rails are rounded and not suitable for sitting your wine glass or bourbon on while grilling (haha; inside joke). We walked uptown every day to the market (which reminded us a little bit of the market at Harrod's in London), restaurants, and wine tastings. All the locals know the Adorable Purple Victorian and Janet and her husband. Janet's insider tips and wonderful coupons really helped make a great stay even better. We would love to return really soon to the Adorable Purple Victorian or one of Janet's Paris properties."

"Two couples traveling together and this condo was clean and comfortable, and allowed both couples privacy so it suited our needs well, 2 master beds and baths. We were on the go most of the time we were in Napa, but this was a nice spot to come home to. We thought we would cook one dinner at the house, but never got around to it with all the great restaurants in the area. As others have mentioned, it is a little walk from the parking lot, and not well lit at night, so keep this in mind if that would be an issue for you, but other than that it really is a great value and I would stay again if I were to visit Napa again. There were TV's in both bedrooms, which was perfect for us, the beds were super comfy, and most of all the place was up to date and CLEAN. Bob was easy to deal with and always responded quickly to my emails."

"Overall we had a great stay here - we booked this property largely due to the proximity to Main St (we walked to dinner and back every night), outdoor hot tub, and ability to easily fit 3 couples. Kitchen was well equipped although we only used it for breakfast. Outdoor space was adorable and felt very spa like and secluded. Area was very quiet and perfect for relaxation in the evenings.
Living room was a bit tight for 6 people as we played card games there each night (appreciate thoughtfulness of owners to supply games!) but it was workable. The two couples who stayed in the main house didn't have any complaints other than the water temp in the shower fluctuating.
The garden house was well maintained and we appreciated the mini fridge. Bedroom area was huge but bathroom was a bit cramped although functional. The A/C unit for the garden house is basically a window unit in the wall above the king bed - we had to leave it on constantly at night otherwise the on/off would wake us up. Suggestions for owners: Maybe try a different room layout so that the A/C isn't right above people's heads? Also new bed pillows would be nice, they had seen better days.
Owners were traveling during our stay but called and checked in on us to make sure everything was OK for our stay. The entire communication process went well, these guys really take care of their guests. Would recommend this place to friends."

"My boyfriend and I have been here for two weeks of our eight month stay while he attends the ACAP program at CIA. From the moment we walked into the apartment it immediately became home. Susan greeted us with a warm welcome, big smile and fresh flowers. The garden, in the midst of California's great draught, is plush with figs, persimmons, herbs and soon to be pomegranates all in our backyard!
Susan has been a wonderful host who really knows the area and is well connected in the community. She has hosted me for a lovely dinner (she's a great cook and conversationalist), directed us to great hiking and invited me along to yoga classes, which I look forward to attending with her.
The property is ideally located a short 7 minute walk from Oxbow Market and downtown Napa. There is a lovely yoga studio just at the end of the road, a 3 minute walk from home and the Napa Farmers Market just down the way twice a week!
Then there is Lucca. One of the highlights of the property, aside from the garden. Lucca is sweet, friendly and adorable. A true delight to come home to.
We are thrilled with our accommodations and look forward to our months ahead exploring Napa from this sweet homestead!"
