  • Home away from home in a great location

"The adorable Purple Victorian is a unique property in one of the best Napa locations with amenities that cannot be matched. It is a fully furnished home, in the vacation period style for the most part, with some modern updates that enhance its functionality. We were in residence during the month of August 2014, the month of the Napa earthquake. The house shook like all the others in Napa, but came through it with no significant damage, unlike some other properties where occupants had to evacuate. We were completely unscathed. After 125 years the Purple Victorian appears to have adapted to such events and is a safe haven. The property has a spacious back yard, with a fabulous gazebo and carriage house, and also many decorative trees and other plantings, including orange, apple and pear trees. Overlooking the back yard is a verandah with chairs, a modern gas grill and an outdoor stove. We found the gazebo and verandah to be our favorite places. The beds at Purple Vic are excellent. There is a study with Wi-Fi and a desktop computer. The owners provided us with wine tasting and dining coupons, plus their own extensive review of restaurants in the Napa area. The property is within easy walking distance of everything in downtown Napa. The owners are a delight to work with. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit."

  • 5 Star Villa, Location, and Views!

"First of all, the pictures on this site cannot possibly capture how stunning this property is. From the moment we pulled up to the front of the house and toured the house itself, to the moment we exited the back of the house to the patio and grounds and views, views, views, it was all jaw dropping gorgeous! We actually felt as though we were staying in a five star hotel with all of the amenities provided -- an endless supply of all toiletries and towels and luxurious bedding and sheets. The decor is stunning, the huge kitchen feeling as though you're in a Tuscan villa. The master suite is massive, and the other 3 bedrooms beautifully furnished, all with ensuite bathrooms. The back patio is very large with a lovely pool, spa, fire pit, lounging area, and outdoor dining. Not to mention the vineyard that starts where the manicured lawn ends, and the breathtaking views of Napa beyond. And we were treated to some spectacular sunsets, as well as hot air balloons rising in the morning. So, so peaceful. A wonderful retreat after long days of wine tastings and tours. The booking process with David was quick and easy, and Bill, the property manager was very helpful and great to deal with. Bill is also the property manager at the Oxbow Market in downtown Napa. Visited several times, as well as the outdoor market across the street on Tuesday and Saturday mornings. A must! All in all a very memorable vacation. My husband and I are 5 star travellers, and we will definitely stay here again when visiting Napa. I very highly recommend it to others."

  • Napa vacation

"The house was perfect for five couples! Prior to renting I was concerned about one reviewers comments regarding the "curfew". Based on the price, location, and the fact that all five couples would have their own room, we decided to rent it anyway. The Napa Ordinance regarding quiet times was clearly stated in the rental agreement, so there was absolutely no surprise. We were perfectly fine coming inside prior to the quiet times. Based on the size of the interior, we were able to hang out inside through the night without any problem. It was a non-issue for us. We all agreed that we would definitely rent this property again. Additionally, the property manager set us up with a private chef for dinner one night. I highly recommend if you feel like staying in one night."

  • Worth the trip up the road

"If you want a place to get away from it all, this is the spot for you. Gorgeous views, wonderful hosts and a quiet atmosphere creates a wonderful getaway. Also, the winery connected to the property has wonderful wine! We did lots of nice walks up the road and on the property and had a great time."
