  • We could have stayed forever!

"As VBRO and Homeaway users, we can say that our stay at the bungalow was beyond our expectations. Our hosts made us very welcome and saw to every detail. Although they were in residence during our stay and made themselves available, the property is so large and private we felt alone, but had the comfort of knowing they weren't far. Every amenity was thought of; 2 sets of his & her robes for seasonal temps., an abundance of extra linens, blankets, pillows etc., a fully equipped kitchen stocked with basic condiments and spices, coffee, tea to get you started. Faith has added her incredible touches throughout the bungalow so that the eye is never disappointed. There is what we came to dub "the red bible" on the desk which answers almost any question you might have about the bungalow before you have it. Very helpful. The bungalow is about 10 minutes from downtown Napa, half of which is a beautiful drive down the mountain through deer gated vineyards. The highway is easy to access and daily trips to St.Helena, Sonoma, Yountville and Calistoga were a breeze. Faith and Peter were very helpful with info on where to market, restaurant and visit locally. Favorite food and wine pairing was St. Francis Winery. Don't miss Artesa winery. Loved downtown Sonoma for shopping and lunch. Unexpected highlight was meeting Peter & Faith and their canine and feline family Dorji, Rosie and Fred! We literally could have stayed forever!"

  • Peaceful and Relaxing (even through an earthquake!)

"Beautiful cottage and grounds. Gracious owners. Perfect location. Need I say more? My husband and I were at the cottage to visit our son and celebrate our 33rd anniversary. We experienced the Napa earthquake on our first night - the owner was there in minutes with a flashlight. No damage to the cottage, and luckily we had a place to relax and eat for the next couple of days while most restaurants were closed. We could not have stayed anywhere better!!!"

  • Never wanted to leave the patio

"This is an extremely well-equipped unit, and such a nice layout--would be perfect for two couples traveling together due to the double masters, each with their own large ensuite bathrooms. The location right on the course is very restful, with beautiful views of the mountains and sunrise, and the numerous plants on both the front and rear patios are most pleasant. With as dry as the Valley has been, the golf course was an oasis of green. Be aware that the walk to the unit from the parking area is not short, so try not to forget anything on the way to or from the car; the upside is that the unit is very private, with almost no one walking by on the way to theirs. Although the property is relatively remote, it's a short drive to Trancas Street and almost anything you'd need or want, and only a little longer to downtown Napa. As to wineries, we found the view from William Hill (only about half a mile away) to be spectacular, and their chardonnay exceptional. It was easy to feel very much at home here, and was a great home base for any plans in the Valley."

  • Recommend, but a few things you should know...

"We booked this house for a girl's vacation (6 women). The location was good, the property was nice and, overall, we liked the house. A few things that we learned that we feel others should know about: one of the neighbors apparently hates that this place is a vacation rental. Supposedly he'll complain at the drop of a hat. Upon arrival we were told that we must be inside the house by 10 pm. If the neighbor were to call and complain to the owner or police we'd get a $300 fine. We are adults. We wouldn't have been throwing a raging party...but we would have been liked to be treated like adults and enjoy the use of the patio and the hot tub until whatever time we wanted. This made us feel that we were children and restricted to a curfew. Had we known this (which we weren't told until we showed up) we wouldn't have rented the property. Who wants to get away from their kids and husbands for a week, meet up with old friends from across the country and feel like they're under restriction? Finally, the owner needs to fix a few items: 1) the shower drain in the main hallway was extremely backed up. It's gross having three women share a shower and stand in water from the person who showered before you. This happened on day 1 - so it wasn't us that caused it. 2) the water filter and ice maker on the fridge doesn't work. We were told the owner knows but won't replace the fridge b/c it still works. Well, 'work' is a term I'll use loosely. The fridge cools but doesn't keep things as cold as a fridge should. We were also forced to buy ice and water jugs. Seems a fridge is a small investment for one who cares about the comfort and needs of the guests renting from them. Overall, we enjoyed our stay, felt the property served us well - but we would have probably booked elsewhere just for the scrooge neighbor threat."
