  • Old friends reunion

"The condo was lovely and the grounds were very well groomed, The pool was very inviting, although would have been better if it had been heated. This was just the accommodations we were looking for, a place that each of us ( 5 total) could have our own bed. Also, the kitchen was very well equipped, everything we needed was there. We definitly would go back again!"

  • Beautiful and private retreat. Felt like home, but better!

"We loved this sweet apartment overlooking the woods. Sabine and Stephen were wonderful hosts. Very responsive when we had any questions or needed anything. We both enjoyed making their acquaintance. The photos really don't do the property justice. The remodel that they did on this guest apartment is perfect for the space and takes advantage of the natural lighting. We woke every morning to deer in the backyard. And the sunset view is gorgeous. Both Stephen and Sabine are artist so you'll find nice little personal touches throughout the rental. We look forward to our next vacation here!"

  • Home away from home in a great location

"The adorable Purple Victorian is a unique property in one of the best Napa locations with amenities that cannot be matched. It is a fully furnished home, in the vacation period style for the most part, with some modern updates that enhance its functionality. We were in residence during the month of August 2014, the month of the Napa earthquake. The house shook like all the others in Napa, but came through it with no significant damage, unlike some other properties where occupants had to evacuate. We were completely unscathed. After 125 years the Purple Victorian appears to have adapted to such events and is a safe haven. The property has a spacious back yard, with a fabulous gazebo and carriage house, and also many decorative trees and other plantings, including orange, apple and pear trees. Overlooking the back yard is a verandah with chairs, a modern gas grill and an outdoor stove. We found the gazebo and verandah to be our favorite places. The beds at Purple Vic are excellent. There is a study with Wi-Fi and a desktop computer. The owners provided us with wine tasting and dining coupons, plus their own extensive review of restaurants in the Napa area. The property is within easy walking distance of everything in downtown Napa. The owners are a delight to work with. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit."

  • Calistoga Perfection

"We had the sheer joy of staying at this three-suite home, slightly outside of Calistoga for our daughter's wedding at Hans Fahden. I can't express adequately what a delightful experience it was to enter the gated grounds, pull up to the adorable home with a bubbling fountain (where we got to witness a deer getting a little sip) and then discover the beautiful home inside. We truly felt as though we had come home. The house was immaculate, provided every amenity necessary down to the robes and slippers and was nestled between beautiful trees and a private vineyard. The photo listings are nice, but don't begin to do justice to this property. The owners were most accommodating and a pleasure to work with - and really went above and beyond. It was a perfect launch for the wedding and a most welcome place to return to when the festivities were over. We had the luxury of an extra day after the wedding and enjoyed a walk up to the vineyard to take in the amazing view. Anyone considering a weekend (or longer) in wine country would be very satisfied staying in this home. Thank you for allowing us to enjoy a few days at your "little slice of heaven on earth.""
