"We had a lovely time here! Nine of us stayed very comfortably in this huge home. We spent most of our time either out by the pool, or hanging out in the kitchen. It was very clean, the beds were all extremely comfortable, and the hosts were very kind to us. We even had a car battery die, and they went above and beyond to help us out. We will definitely stay here again!"

"About thirty of us, family and friends gathered at Anvil for the celebration of eight anniversaries (1974 for the earliest, 2010 the most recent) and the engagement party of my daughter and her fiance. Our weekend was the perfect blend of enjoyment, relaxation and stunning natural beauty. Though we were there in early November, the weather was sparkling with temperatures warm to cool. Moonlight scavenger hunt formthe children, daytime hiking, boating and hot tubbing for the adults and an epic night of Mexican boxcar dominoes were the highlights of our visit. Our first night we dined on the front lawn and danced in the courtyard while the full moon rose over the vineyard. The second we dined on Sam's signature pizzas from the wood burning oven in the vineyard itself. Shannon and Sam saw to every detail to insure a magical time for all our guests. The engaged couple have chosen Anvil for their wedding venue so we will return in November 2016.
From the fresh mountain air, the cloud filled valleys around the property in the early morning and the richness of the sunsets, Anvil is a treat for the senses. The guest house and the carriage house rooms were clean, comfortable and bright with thoughtful touches. The kitchen and dining areas are spacious. There are plenty of cosy little niches indoors and out for private moments and quiet conversation as well as plenty of big fun sites."

"I just spent a long weekend at this cabin with a handful of friends and had the loveliest time. This is one of the nicest cabins that I have stayed at in the Russian River area, and I've tried out a handful over the years! When we arrived we were surprised to see how tall and large the cabin is -- it doesn't come across in the pictures, but the living room has this enormously high ceiling and a very tall window built to showcase the towering redwoods right outside. The cabin was very clean and furnished and arranged in an effortlessly functional and user-friendly way. It just felt so spacious and easy. We found all the tools we needed in the kitchen to cook some big feasts, including an amazing nonstick pan, and we really liked how the big dining table is in the kitchen so that we could all hang out and help with cooking prep together there. The ocean is nearby and Armstrong woods is even nearer. The only slightly goofy thing about this place was the character of the hot tub -- I had never been in one that felt so much like a kiddie pool and it was cramped for people with longer legs. But we enjoyed using it every night regardless, and would definitely come back again!"

"Every year my two oldest friends and I spend a weekend together reminiscing about our 40+ years of friendship. This year it was my responsibility to find a location and I was lucky enough to find the Memory Lane Home. Quiet, beautiful, slow and peaceful are the words that come to mind. Nestled in the woods, close to fantastic food and music, great for just walking around, a few minutes walk from the beautiful Russian River, it was everything we could have hoped for. And the place itself? Perfect. Comfortable, clean, and well maintained, the house had everything we needed. If you're looking for a place to stay up at the Russian River, I highly recommend you choose this beautiful place."
