"My husband and I stayed at the Stern & Anchor for a plein air event he was participating in and we were most impressed with this cottage! We've stayed at many VRBO rentals and other owner owned rentals and this is, by far, the cleanest we have ever been in. Attention to every detail is evident and we loved coming back after a long day of painting and relaxing with a glass of wine with an amazing view of the Salmon Creek and the ocean in the distance. Early morning walks were so quiet and we saw many forms of wildlife and birds. The pictures on this rental are very accurate. We have both been in the hospitality business and this deserves the 5 stars we give it. Now, I only have a few things to mention, especially to the ladies...if you spend time in the bathroom putting on make-up or bring a lot of toiletries, etc...you may be a bit disappointed in the bathroom. There is virtually no space to put anything except maybe a small bag of cosmetics. No drawer space, nowhere to put dryer/curling irons, etc. It's a gorgeous bathroom but designed for men. There was no kleenex tissue anywhere in the house, so make sure to bring your own. Also, the bed in the master bedroom is very, very hard...not firm...hard. We both had a difficult time getting a sound sleep. Some may like a hard bed, but I prefer a pillow-top firm mattress. Also, ladies...the kitchen is great but no dishwasher or disposal. No big deal, just giving a heads up. We loved staying there and plan on returning the next time we are in Bodega Bay!"

"My girlfriend and I stayed at the Captain's Quarters on an impromptu romantic getaway. We got in late, but were please to see the house turned down for our arrival. At my request, Mia was able to stock the fridge with a cold bottle of champagne and cheese+crackers for our arrival. She even left some fresh flowers on the table. Totally above and beyond! Needless to say, my girlfriend was very surprised. I earned a few brownie points thanks to Mia and her team.
The house was clean, well appointed, inviting, and a fantastic place to entertain and relax. We made liberal use of the hot tub and took the kayaks out on the nearby Russian river. On our second night, we bought crabs from one of the local dealers and cooked dinner. More wine, delicious food, another great day.
On Sunday we took a deep sea fishing trip out with Ms. Anita charters ( http://www.missanitafishingcharters.com/ ), which is right down the street from the house. Our captain Aaron was great. We caught ourselves a nice fat salmon, which we ate as sashimi later that night. Not too shabby :)
There was some audible noise from traffic on Rt1, but it didn't bother either of us. The living spaces are very private and the views over the bay are incredibly picturesque. I'll definitely be coming back."

"We first stayed at Aftermath in July of 2014 and wrote the review Amazing in So Many Ways! The five of us returned for another visit to Aftermath and again had a wonderful visit. Since last year, Beth has added a gas/rock outside fire pit - complete with wind break and seating area. We loved sitting by the fire talking, admiring the view, and making smores. Last year, Reuben - the neighbor and gardener for Aftermath - saved the day by coming over and taking numerous pictures of our family. This year we brought a selfie stick so we were set for family pictures - but Reuben again saved the day when we realized that we forgot the awning for our beach canopy. Reuben loaned us a large tarp which we were able to tie on the top of our canopy. Thanks Reuben! We went to The Tides for a delicious dinner, bought saltwater taffy at Patrick's, and made a trip into Santa Rosa to have lunch and drink Pliny the Elder at the Russian River Brew Pub. We again walked along the bluff (trails go up the coast), and then looped down and walked along the beach to Duncan's Cove and back up to the cabin (nice 60 minute loop). Our son, who works in Sacramento, had originally planned to leave Sunday night to drive back to Sac. However, he wanted to stay to the last possible minute so instead stayed over Sunday night and left for Sacramento at 5:30 a.m. Monday morning. Aftermath is such a wonderful cabin in such a gorgeous location that everyone wants to stay as long as possible! We hope to return again next summer."
