  • Had a BLAST

"We rented both units. We had plenty of room for both families. The pool was very nice and the patio fireplace was great on the cool evenings. This is a great location for both the local vineyards and day trips to San Francisco."

  • The best of everything surrounds you!

"We wanted a place where we three adults could get away from it all in a classy, low-key way, taste great and interesting wines, spend time with beautiful nature, exercise, shop, dine well... All in 3 days. This is the place! Glen Ellen's market is perfect for picnics, breakfasts, and meals (if you choose to cook), and surrounding towns and vineyards will totally fill the day. The nearby park/preserve is great for a morning hike or run, and you can not beat a hillside winery for relaxing. There are also good brew pubs and reliable taxi services. To top it off, the Littles are friendly, generous, interesting, informed hosts, (who happen to make excellent wine). They were clearly interested in making our stay a great one. And the pool is fantastic! If you go, prepare for the weather. It was over 100 by midday and then a comfortable 60ish at night. Hope there will be rain in the future... Also prepare for some traffic if you fly into SF. We arrived quite late, but that was OK with the Littles. If you are lucky, you will see the fog lift off of the Golden Gate Bridge as you drive back to the airport - a perfect ending to a special trip!"

  • Amazing views with modern luxury

"The views you get from the patio is truly amazing. I could not wait to get out there first thing in the morning to see the fog and clouds over the valley (yes, we were above the clouds), and wait for the gorgeous sunrise. Of course the sunset was equally gorgeous, and we could not stop taking pictures. The house was a true retreat, and perfect for our family to take it slow and relax while visiting a couple wineries a day. Glen Ellen is 10 - 15 min drive from the house and has a great market (with produce and ready made food) and really cute restaurants with a local feel. Kitchen is fully stocked with top grade appliances and tools, and weber grill, so cooking and eating in was a pleasure as well. It is about a 10 min drive up the hill to get to the house, but the roads are absolutely safe (we've driven in much worse in europe), and there's rarely any other cars on the road at the same time. Was not a big deal driving back to the house at night after dinner once you've done the drive in the daylight. You don't get views and privacy like this without that much of a drive up the hill. The house is furnished beautifully and super clean and not cluttered, which is what I always look for in a vacation property as well. My favorite part was the modern, clean bathrooms and the humongous walk in closet! And John was very nice and pleasant and made the process very easy, with clear instructions and guide to the area. Highly recommend this house for exploring sonoma and napa area."

  • Perfect in every way!

"This amazing home was the perfect spot for our group celebrating my 50th birthday. 4 couples enjoyed the beautiful gardens, refreshing pool, gourmet kitchen, and plenty of bedroom/bathroom/living space for all. The furnishings are up to date and very comfortable, the house was immaculate. Views from the entire property are breathtaking-don't miss sitting by the pool in the morning to watch grazing deer, humming birds and hawks flying overhead. A short walk up the driveway and you're in Jack London State Park for hiking, for a more serious workout walk or run Sonoma Mt Road and look for Yaks and Alpacas at nearby farms. Close to some of the best wineries in Sonoma and just minutes from the laid back town of Glen Ellen where you have your pick of world class restaurants, there is no lack of good food and wine. Caryl was wonderful to work with setting up our trip and Jim the caretaker was quietly available whenever we needed anything. We really couldn't have asked for a more comfortable, lovely, experience! The perfect way to entertain some of our best friends and celebrate my big birthday! You won't find a better home to "live the Sonoma life". Thank you Caryl for sharing your beautiful home!"
