  • girls weekend

"We had a lovely time here! Nine of us stayed very comfortably in this huge home. We spent most of our time either out by the pool, or hanging out in the kitchen. It was very clean, the beds were all extremely comfortable, and the hosts were very kind to us. We even had a car battery die, and they went above and beyond to help us out. We will definitely stay here again!"

  • Perfect for Honeymoon in Wine Country

"We can't stop smiling about our stay at the Moon House. My husband and I stayed for 3 nights while taking a Honeymoon in wine country, and everything exceeded our expectations. Terry was so helpful and accommodating throughout the entire process of planning our stay. We arrived to a handwritten note and a bottle of local wine! We loved the unique setting and proximity to town for easy market trips and dinner spots. The kitchen is fully stocked - even had coffee and tea! We also loved the outdoor patio area for evenings under the stars. We spent one day at wineries in Napa and another day at wineries in Sonoma, but the house is a great centralized location from which to explore both regions. Terry also provided maps, brochures, and suggestions for hiking and dining in the area. We will definitely be back!! It's such a special place. It was the highlight of our week in California because it was a unique way to experience the life in wine country. We felt at home :) and well taken care of throughout the stay with plenty of towels, bedding, etc. We recommend checking out The Fig Cafe in town as well as the Glen Ellen Market to stock up on picnic lunch for winery hopping. Loved everything about the Moon House and the warm hospitality."

  • Wonderful family vacation

"This property was absolutely perfect for our yearly family vacation. It isn't easy to find a place that is beautiful and yet comfortable for a family, grandparents to toddlers. The kids played safely in the completely fenced yard and the adults were able to enjoy the amazing art collection in the house, everything placed either on the walls or safely out of reach of little fingers. You could tell this is a house well loved and cared for by the family that owns it. I also enjoyed dealing directly with the owner in arranging our stay. I hope we will be able to return next year."

  • Incredible Retreat

"We had a wonderful stay at Stonetree. The home is absolutely beautiful with large bedrooms, a gourmet kitchen, children’s play area, study with books galore, pool, hot tub, gardens, open indoor/outdoor floor plan, and breathtaking views. The house itself is immaculate and inviting with lots of light and convenience; it’s great for family gatherings and equally great if you have a dog. Jim, the caretaker, is very helpful if you have any questions or issues with the home (e.g. internet connection, hot tub temperature, sound system, etc.), and Caryl, the owner, is a pleasure to work with at all times before, during, and after your stay. The grounds themselves are spectacular, and great hiking is a very short walk from the house: beautiful forest, hills, trees, stream, and a fantastic bonus is that you are only a short hike away from Jack London’s estate, which offers a glimpse into his home and farming life in the early 1900’s. The area itself has nice local restaurants if/when you tire of cooking and of course some great vineyards to visit. All in all, it is hard to beat Stonetree if you are looking to experience a few days living (vs. hoteling) in wine country. We can't wait to return this summer."
