  • Fantastic Weekend

"This was a truly lovely place for a family gathering. The house is larger and nicer than it appears in the pictures. We absolutely loved the extra warm saline pool, the incredible view of the Valley and the deck over looking it all. Thanks for providing the setting for a great cousin's reunion."

  • Incredible Retreat

"We had a wonderful stay at Stonetree. The home is absolutely beautiful with large bedrooms, a gourmet kitchen, children’s play area, study with books galore, pool, hot tub, gardens, open indoor/outdoor floor plan, and breathtaking views. The house itself is immaculate and inviting with lots of light and convenience; it’s great for family gatherings and equally great if you have a dog. Jim, the caretaker, is very helpful if you have any questions or issues with the home (e.g. internet connection, hot tub temperature, sound system, etc.), and Caryl, the owner, is a pleasure to work with at all times before, during, and after your stay. The grounds themselves are spectacular, and great hiking is a very short walk from the house: beautiful forest, hills, trees, stream, and a fantastic bonus is that you are only a short hike away from Jack London’s estate, which offers a glimpse into his home and farming life in the early 1900’s. The area itself has nice local restaurants if/when you tire of cooking and of course some great vineyards to visit. All in all, it is hard to beat Stonetree if you are looking to experience a few days living (vs. hoteling) in wine country. We can't wait to return this summer."

  • A perfect modern retreat.

"This property is just as described. A perfect mid-century modern retreat for our family of 8. We cooked in the gorgeous kitchen every night. I wouldn't change a thing! We will certainly be returning."

  • The best of everything surrounds you!

"We wanted a place where we three adults could get away from it all in a classy, low-key way, taste great and interesting wines, spend time with beautiful nature, exercise, shop, dine well... All in 3 days. This is the place! Glen Ellen's market is perfect for picnics, breakfasts, and meals (if you choose to cook), and surrounding towns and vineyards will totally fill the day. The nearby park/preserve is great for a morning hike or run, and you can not beat a hillside winery for relaxing. There are also good brew pubs and reliable taxi services. To top it off, the Littles are friendly, generous, interesting, informed hosts, (who happen to make excellent wine). They were clearly interested in making our stay a great one. And the pool is fantastic! If you go, prepare for the weather. It was over 100 by midday and then a comfortable 60ish at night. Hope there will be rain in the future... Also prepare for some traffic if you fly into SF. We arrived quite late, but that was OK with the Littles. If you are lucky, you will see the fog lift off of the Golden Gate Bridge as you drive back to the airport - a perfect ending to a special trip!"
