  • Perfect Sonoma Area Retreat

"My husband and I spent a wonderful extended weekend at Tanglewood House. The house is located close to Glen Ellen, beautifully landscaped and immaculately maintained. A delicious breakfast is served every morning. Your hosts (John & Mary) make you feel at home. There are two dogs on the property and they are very well behaved. Highly recommend this property."

  • Amazing views with modern luxury

"The views you get from the patio is truly amazing. I could not wait to get out there first thing in the morning to see the fog and clouds over the valley (yes, we were above the clouds), and wait for the gorgeous sunrise. Of course the sunset was equally gorgeous, and we could not stop taking pictures. The house was a true retreat, and perfect for our family to take it slow and relax while visiting a couple wineries a day. Glen Ellen is 10 - 15 min drive from the house and has a great market (with produce and ready made food) and really cute restaurants with a local feel. Kitchen is fully stocked with top grade appliances and tools, and weber grill, so cooking and eating in was a pleasure as well. It is about a 10 min drive up the hill to get to the house, but the roads are absolutely safe (we've driven in much worse in europe), and there's rarely any other cars on the road at the same time. Was not a big deal driving back to the house at night after dinner once you've done the drive in the daylight. You don't get views and privacy like this without that much of a drive up the hill. The house is furnished beautifully and super clean and not cluttered, which is what I always look for in a vacation property as well. My favorite part was the modern, clean bathrooms and the humongous walk in closet! And John was very nice and pleasant and made the process very easy, with clear instructions and guide to the area. Highly recommend this house for exploring sonoma and napa area."

  • A dream come true!!!

"My family of 4 stayed at Sonoma Creek Cottage over Mother's Day weekend! I could not have asked for a more perfect property and home! The home is equipped with everything you need! The pool is lovely! The hot tub and outdoor shower are amazing! The deck overlooking the creek was magical! Just beyond the wild flowers you can see the creek and hear its lovely babbling. My 4 and 8 year olds loved taking the staircase down to the creek with my husband to take a closer look and try their hand at skipping rocks. I loved sitting under the shade of the umbrella with a cocktail watching them laugh. This property is a super convenient 5 minutes to either Glen Ellen or Kenwood! This property felt super secluded and yet is so close to a fabulous market, tasting rooms, restaurants, and wineries. We were all so sad to leave and hope to stay again as soon as humanly possible!!!"

  • Incredible Retreat

"We had a wonderful stay at Stonetree. The home is absolutely beautiful with large bedrooms, a gourmet kitchen, children’s play area, study with books galore, pool, hot tub, gardens, open indoor/outdoor floor plan, and breathtaking views. The house itself is immaculate and inviting with lots of light and convenience; it’s great for family gatherings and equally great if you have a dog. Jim, the caretaker, is very helpful if you have any questions or issues with the home (e.g. internet connection, hot tub temperature, sound system, etc.), and Caryl, the owner, is a pleasure to work with at all times before, during, and after your stay. The grounds themselves are spectacular, and great hiking is a very short walk from the house: beautiful forest, hills, trees, stream, and a fantastic bonus is that you are only a short hike away from Jack London’s estate, which offers a glimpse into his home and farming life in the early 1900’s. The area itself has nice local restaurants if/when you tire of cooking and of course some great vineyards to visit. All in all, it is hard to beat Stonetree if you are looking to experience a few days living (vs. hoteling) in wine country. We can't wait to return this summer."
