  • Gorgeous, spacious, quiet, and great pool!

"The Gatehouse is a lovely place to call home while visiting in Glen Ellen/Sonoma County. Walking distance to downtown Glen Ellen, yet far away from the main road so you have peace and quiet. Very comfortable beds, the master bathroom is modern and spacious. If you're a foodie, the kitchen is for you - very large and accommodating for making a fantastic meal. The pool and spa in the backyard are incredible, including the stunning views of Jack London State Park. This house has everything you and your guests need to have a comfortable stay. I would definitely stay in this house again and highly recommend you consider this rental. Barry was very professional, communicative, and walked me through questions so we felt right at home for the weekend. Thank you, we had a wonderful time!"

  • Perfect, Rustic Getaway

"I'm so glad we chose this as our vacation rental this last weekend while visiting the Sonoma/Napa area. It was truly the perfect place to unwind and spend time with our friends after fun-filled days of visiting wineries. The accommodations are rustic and blend in beautifully with nature. At the same time it was clean and had all the amenities you would need (T.V., WiFi, etc.) We are already talking about this being our "place" when we visit the area. Although a bit isolated from the surrounding towns, the drive up the mountain provided some spectacular views and it wasn't too far to get any attraction you would want to see in the area. Very excellent vacation, thank you Smiling Tribe!"

  • Wonderful property

"We stayed at this house the last week in Oct. 2014. It was everything we had hoped for and more. There were 6 of us however the house could easily hold 8-10 with the 4 bedrooms and living areas. The views were amazing from the deck and the house had everything we needed. We love the location to hop between Sonoma & Napa valleys. It was very comforting to know we had a really nice guy like Robert on the property to handle any problems even though we had none. We will be back again for sure!"

  • Nicely appointed--lovely & cozy stay

"We are frequent renters of homes through vrbo.com; Luxury Retreats and Home Away--so when I report that the this sweet home is a nice wine country oasis--I feel I can say this with quite confidence. We loved the separation of the two separate en-suite bed/bath from the upstairs guests, but did not feel too isolated from our friends staying in the other room. The kitchen is amazing appointed with all the things you might need (not many homes I've rented come equipped this well--paper goods & great supply of knives/cooking supplies). If you are a chef---you will enjoy cooking here (small kitchen, but well appointed). I was pleasantly surprised to find coarse kosher salt, pepper, olive oil, etc. Who knew? Additinally...there is a fantastic gas grill on the deck--and great space to sip wine while grilling. If you are a TV watcher (or like the access of cable TV or 'streaming' video) you will need to adjust your expectations. There is a DVD player as well as an ipod sound system available--but only in the main living room. Nothing in the bedrooms, nor is there a sound system throughout the villa. Outside of that--we found it to be charming and hope to return again!"
