"My husband and I spent 7 nights here. We had a wonderful stay and all the amenities were provided as advertised. This house was very comfortable. Although it was very clean it has been noticeably well used though the years - stains on the floors, frayed carpets, etc. With our two 65-pound dogs in tow, we prefer a well-loved and well-taken care of vacation home anyways. My only two real issues were the bathroom (shower curtain was SCARY) and the broken and dangerous (nails exposed) patio furniture.
The driveway is around the corner from the house entrance. This means you have to lug all your belongings around a narrow, uneven, highly traveled street and straight up a hill. There is a good bump and dip as you enter the house too, making it difficult to roll ice-chests, etc into the house. The parking spot was tight for our Dodge Ram 1500. This house is not ideal for elderly or disabled people.
The two bedrooms were comfortable. The beds okay. The mattresses were hard. The linens were fresh and clean. The guest bedroom did not have a closet. The kitchen was spacious and had all the necessary stuff that we needed. The kitchen was plenty large for two people. All the appliances were in working order. The only major eye sore was the bathroom. The view from the front deck is spectacular as well as the views from the house. The neighborhood is quiet but noticeably louder during the weekend.
There was plenty of room inside the house for our two big dogs. The front deck facing the river is small. The backyard deck was spacious although it was still a bit small– there wasn’t enough room to run or play fetch. There is an area above the deck where the dogs did their business. My big dogs easily scaled the small hill to the open, landscaped area. My husband did not enjoy picking up the poops as the landscaped area is difficult to get to – it’s uneven and hilly and hard to see the poops. The house was completely fenced for my dogs. I would say this house accommodates dogs but it not really dog-friendly nor is it anything close to a dog paradise, but the beaches more than make up for that!
The hot tub worked great and all the jets worked fine. The hot tub does not face the river. It does have a pretty amazing view of a very cool rock mountain. The back deck is completely private and fenced. We spent many nights under the stars.
The river is about a 2-block walk down a hill, you have to cross hwy 1. Goats Rock Beach is about 10 mins and Wrights is about 15 mins"

"Great family gathering for a week. Such a beautiful house, well stocked kitchen, huge multi level decks with awesome views. It was hard to decide if venturing out or staying in would be more fun. Toni was always available to answer questions. Lovely lady and owner."

"This is now rated in our "definitely return" file. Getaway was for wife's birthday, looking for a quiet place for a couple days. This fit the bill entirely, clean, comfortable, small but not tiny for the two of us, situated at end of road, so no traffic sounds, yet easy access to coffeeshops, restaurants, and short drive from beautiful coastal walks."

"This newer house sits up the hill from the coast where you have an excellent view of the ocean from both decks. It is a tri-level house with 2 bedrooms plus an extra bed off the master bedroom, and 2-1/2 baths. The kitchen has a toaster, stove, microwave, dishwasher and the usual pots and pans, and dishes, as well as a gas BBQ on the lower deck. A wood-burning stove is the only heat source, though there is an upstairs gas fireplace for taking the chill off the master bedroom on the third level. There is an ample wood pile out back.
The house is remote. It is located at least 30 minutes from anywhere, so make sure you do all your shopping before you leave town. Once you are there, it is very inconvenient to pick up that one item you may have forgotten. But being in such a remote location is part of the charm, and Clark's Cove is a great place for quiet relaxation. The neighbors are few and they are very difficult to see. So enjoying the fantastic ocean view from either deck is a private affair.
We rented the house for two nights. When we arrived, the propane tank was empty. We didn't realize the full extent of the situation until the following morning after we enjoyed our cold showers and couldn't light the stove. So we called Malcolm and Sherry at Jenner Vacation Rentals for help. They were both very professional and understanding. Malcolm contacted the owner and got permission for an emergency propane refill. We made alternate plans and headed back into town to check out the zip lines and then hang out in Guerneville (good times). By the time we returned that evening, the propane tank had been filled, the stove and gas fireplace tested and hot water was working again.
Because of the lost day of relaxation at Clark's Cove, Malcolm went the extra mile and refunded us one night's stay. In spite of the problems, we enjoyed our stay at Clark's Cove and hope to return soon. When you are that far away from any services, it is good to know you have people like Malcolm and Sherry at Jenner Vacation Rentals to depend upon."
