  • Fantastic oasis!!

"We had a wonderful stay and enjoyed both the house and the area. The house and gardens are absolutely beautiful and quite relaxing. We had 3 kids (ages 11-16), who all loved the pool and the great room as well as the space. The outdoor cooking area is great and we took great advantage of that after having arrived back at the house with a few bottles from the local wineries:-) Definitely would recommend to others either with kids or a few couples! I did the Vineman 70.3 triathlon, so it was nice to have a place actually along the race course....and having a pool and hot tub was nice for after the race."

  • Fantastic location!

"Words can't do justice to the wonderful time we had here. The home was truly beautiful in many ways. Everything inside is set to perfection. The owners are very friendly and were always available if we had any questions. It was so peaceful and relaxing. We can't wait to plan another trip there!"

  • Perfect place for a weekend getaway

"My wife and I, and another couple stayed the The Lair for weekend getaway to wine/beer country. We could not have asked for a more relaxing "home" away from home. The Lair is clean, cozy, and comfortable. The hot-tub was an added bonus after a long day of wine tasting; and was perfect for unwinding. The kitchen is completely modern, with poured concrete counter-tops, stainless appliances, and looks out over a redwood forest (how cool is that?!). The bedrooms and beds were comfy (especially to us city folk who live in "shoe-boxes" in SF). We did most of our socializing in the upper story, around the dining and living room (which looks like it's out of a Crate & Barrel catalog), and did our couch-potato lazing in the lounge downstairs. Many naps were had :-). The master bedroom on the bottom story, FYI, has shag carpet and opens to a deck. Pretty posh. Nightly, we were able to walk to the main drag in Guernville (about a 15 minute walk) to grab drinks at the local bars and some house/food supplies from Safeway. We spent an afternoon on Johnson's Beach, also a 15 minute walk. Serene, cool, and relaxing setting. Highly recommended for a casual getaway."

  • Great river access

"We had a wonderful weekend away at the Hideaway. The rooms are really small (as pictured), but cozy. The living and dining rooms are large and comfortable - plenty of room to gather. The best part of the house is the dock. It has shade and sun, is located on a great part of the river and was big enough for our group to hang out there all day! Note: bring your own river "gear" (chairs, towels, etc.) as they are not provided with the house. The house also worked well for kids. There was room for them to play on the floor in the house and there was even some kid-friendly dishes/utensils in the well-stocked kitchen. We would definitely come again!"
