  • Warm and Inviting

"We arrived the day after Thanksgiving and stayed a weekend. I was with my husband, son, mother and our dog Hank. The house was easy to find and access based on directions and instructions provided by the owner. The house looked just like it did in the pictures. The fire was lit when we arrived which was a nice touch! The home is well decorated. It had everything we needed. the only exception that we were not aware of was that we needed to purchase wood for the fire. Outside of that, it was clean, beds were comfortable, and there were plenty of games and media to keep us entertained. The only downside to the property is that the back yard was not usable since there was no grass and it appeared as if planting was in progress. Luckily we did not have too much of a need for it as it rained a majority of our trip. Also, be aware that although the house is on the river, there is no direct access to it, except for a small path in between the property and the neighbors home. I would recommend this property, especially to a family. I would however check with the owner first about the status of the backyard to ensure any work being done is complete, especially if you are renting in the summer and plan to use the yard."

  • Beautiful and bucolic

"Very nicely appointed studio in the countryside, very quiet, and about a 20 minute drive from the Healdsburg square. Really appreciated the breakfast, wine and snacks that were provided. Stayed here two days but could have made it a week had we the time. Highly recommended! (Agree with other reviewers that it is not appropriate for families, since there is just one room.)"

  • We had a blast!

"The house has a ton of character and space. You feel like you're in a little cottage but it's big enough to accommodate all your friends and family. I'll happily return to Highland Manor next time I'm in the area. Thanks for a great stay"

  • Wedding weekend with family

"My family absolutely loved everything about the house! The location is excellent, perfect for exploring Healdsburg, Geyserville, and other towns in the area. Those of us not used to wine country were thrilled by the vineyard right across the street. The place is homey and spacious, and in between our weekend activities we could relax in the beautiful kitchen and dining room, the backyard porch — or the jacuzzi. We felt completely at home and were able to entertain a few friends thanks to the ample space with plenty of parking. There's not a thing I could criticize, from bathrooms to beds to the plentiful wineglasses in the superbly well-appointed kitchen. ;-) We loved waking up in the morning to watch the hummingbirds and other birds visiting the feeders just outside the kitchen. We also loved having breakfast at the terrific cafe just two doors down. The owner was responsive, friendly, and very helpful. I am sure that we'll be visiting again."
