  • Fun Times!

"We enjoyed our stay at this property. It is located in a private setting near the Russian River. It is fully stocked with all the amenities you need. Kitchen has everything you need for cooking. Cable TV was fully operational. Bring some DVD's with you. The beds were comfortable. We used the ping pong table and the hot tub. Beware the hot tub is small/suitable for one or two (max). Fire pit was used and was supplied with wood. Bathrooms did not supply shampoo, so we made a trip to the store. We used the kayaks and had fun. A couple of things to note: The neighborhood restaurant plays music on Saturday nights. We were aware of this when we rented the property. They did not stop playing until 10:45pm. We were hoping to go to bed early that night as we had the Vineman triathlon the next morning. But the music was too loud to sleep. No complaints to the owners as I said we were aware of this when we rented the property. Another note: The house sits on top of a hill. The road to the house is very steep and has sharp turns. I would not recommending checking in after dark. It would be difficult to navigate and find the house. Correspondence with the owners was easy. They answered our questions promptly."

  • Great river access

"We had a wonderful weekend away at the Hideaway. The rooms are really small (as pictured), but cozy. The living and dining rooms are large and comfortable - plenty of room to gather. The best part of the house is the dock. It has shade and sun, is located on a great part of the river and was big enough for our group to hang out there all day! Note: bring your own river "gear" (chairs, towels, etc.) as they are not provided with the house. The house also worked well for kids. There was room for them to play on the floor in the house and there was even some kid-friendly dishes/utensils in the well-stocked kitchen. We would definitely come again!"

  • Perfect in every way!

"I wanted to write to thank Shawn and David for the opportunity to rent their fantastic home. I was pleasantly surprised that the house was even better than the pictures. No detail was missed in making this home a perfect get away. I hope to return many times."

  • Dad's 70th Birthday Trip

"The Blue Canoe is right on the river - unfortunately it was a bit cold for kayaking! We ate at all the great restaurants in Guerneville, visited some wineries, drove out to the coast, soaked in the hot tub, and hiked Armstrong Woods. We'll definitely come again for kayaking when it's warmer, but the fog, changing leaves, and the touch of rain was beautiful. My only notes: the fireplace is hard to use despite following instructions exactly, and the microwave door is extremely hard to close. Those are small points considering every linen, spice, pot, pan, utensil, plate & cup we needed was fully stocked."
