  • Charming cabin in the trees

"My husband and I and our 3 children stayed for 5 days. The cabin is in great shape and very charming with balconies and patios everywhere. We felt as if we were in a treehouse as we sipped coffee in the morning outside in a sea of green. Despite the limited space, there was room for everyone with the bunk room. The cabin has everything we needed for cooking. There is no A/C, but it is not needed. We loved paddling up and down the Russian River in the canoe and kayak. The only minor annoyance was the skylight above our bed...we woke up with the sun! However, this turned out to be a good thing, as we woke up fairly early to natural sunlight and were ready to go. We loved the area, and particularly enjoyed the historical tour at Korbel, along with a day of wine tasting elsewhere. The small town of Geurneville has a hippie, laid back vibe and was well equipped for all our grocery needs as well as dinner out 2 nights. I highly recommend Rio Nido Roadhouse for a burger and beer and a plunge in the pool if the kids should so desire. It is a basic cabin, as advertised, but with tons of charm, very kept up, and lots of great amenities!"

  • Fun Times!

"We enjoyed our stay at this property. It is located in a private setting near the Russian River. It is fully stocked with all the amenities you need. Kitchen has everything you need for cooking. Cable TV was fully operational. Bring some DVD's with you. The beds were comfortable. We used the ping pong table and the hot tub. Beware the hot tub is small/suitable for one or two (max). Fire pit was used and was supplied with wood. Bathrooms did not supply shampoo, so we made a trip to the store. We used the kayaks and had fun. A couple of things to note: The neighborhood restaurant plays music on Saturday nights. We were aware of this when we rented the property. They did not stop playing until 10:45pm. We were hoping to go to bed early that night as we had the Vineman triathlon the next morning. But the music was too loud to sleep. No complaints to the owners as I said we were aware of this when we rented the property. Another note: The house sits on top of a hill. The road to the house is very steep and has sharp turns. I would not recommending checking in after dark. It would be difficult to navigate and find the house. Correspondence with the owners was easy. They answered our questions promptly."

  • FANTASTIC!!

"Stayed here during the Russian River Blues & Jazz Fest and it was perfect! Everything was totally walkable, albeit quite aerobic, and the cottage was beautiful. Pulled up after after dark after an especially stressful drive and the cottage was lit up and so warm and inviting….totally set the tone for the weekend. Very tastefully decorated and the softest towels ever! The owners have a house nearby but I never saw them other than my last day; total rose covered privacy in the heart of town. Kathleen sends you a "Things To Do" list and it came in handy when exploring the area. If it's not obvious by now, I highly recommend The Rose Covered Cottage, just don't book it my weekend next year."

  • Great Place to Stay!

"We had three couples with a couple of kiddies. Each room had its own bath which made this place great! Plenty of toys for the kids to play with, awesome deck with redwoods towering about! Walk to the Rio Nido Roadhouse & Pool. We'll be back!"
