  • AHHHHH --- PERFECTION!

"Thank you so much for sharing your wonderful hide-a-way! The moment we entered the gate at the top of the property and made our way down the steps into the secluded and romantic grounds we were hooked! Before we even entered the cottage, we said to each other "we are coming back here again for sure". The multiple outdoor living spaces were so great. We enjoyed the outdoor fireplace with a bottle of wine, some snacks and the USC football game on the laptop! The hot-tub was heaven and the back patio inviting and peaceful. We loved all of the "Mexican Yard Art" that was scattered around the property so much that we sleuthed around the area and found the vendor -- we now have the baby brother of your large peacock in our backyard! Such attention to details - all the little touches that made this home so comfortable were much appreciated. Thank you for the electric blanket in the bedroom! The kitchen is well appointed and the unique space delightfully decorated! It was a great way to celebrate our 27th wedding anniversary and our transition to an officially "empty nest" as our youngest child went off to college in September. Definitely not for small children as there are many levels and small steps up and down into rooms --- but not a problem for us. Would love to see the "before" and "after" pictures -- the renovation of this property is remarkable -- so charming!! Thank you, Thank you, Thank you. We have recommended this property to friends and we will definately be back."

  • Cute, Clean and Convenient

"Great summer rental. Very old building will show you how they lived "in the old days." I'd guess it's at least 100 years old but still very functional. Every space in the structure is used efficiently. Comfortable beds, quiet neighbors, close to town, easy driving access, plenty of parking, nice out door deck and indoor or outdoor eating areas. My advice to renters is to bring paper plates because there is no dishwasher. Also plan on driving to Johnson's beach (a 3 min. drive) because the local river access in walking distance is basically a few inches of dirt in front of a very steep path to the river. Good for fishing, but not good for much else. At Johnson's beach you need creek shoes, and $7 for an umbrella rental. Trust me on this. Otherwise it's a great beach with a snack shack, boat rentals, bathroom, parking, and great waterfront access that even has a "kiddy pool" type area in the river."

  • Warm and Inviting

"We arrived the day after Thanksgiving and stayed a weekend. I was with my husband, son, mother and our dog Hank. The house was easy to find and access based on directions and instructions provided by the owner. The house looked just like it did in the pictures. The fire was lit when we arrived which was a nice touch! The home is well decorated. It had everything we needed. the only exception that we were not aware of was that we needed to purchase wood for the fire. Outside of that, it was clean, beds were comfortable, and there were plenty of games and media to keep us entertained. The only downside to the property is that the back yard was not usable since there was no grass and it appeared as if planting was in progress. Luckily we did not have too much of a need for it as it rained a majority of our trip. Also, be aware that although the house is on the river, there is no direct access to it, except for a small path in between the property and the neighbors home. I would recommend this property, especially to a family. I would however check with the owner first about the status of the backyard to ensure any work being done is complete, especially if you are renting in the summer and plan to use the yard."

"Property was beautiful and very well tended. Cottage was clean and perfect for one or two people. The downside was the darkness in the cottage, the lights had to be on all day to read or even watch tv, every time I went outside I felt like I was emerging from a cave. I've never stayed in the redwoods before so maybe lack of light is the norm there. Property owners were great!"
