  • Tranquility and Peace

"We had a family getaway with 13 folks, and were pleasantly surprised at the openness and spaciousness of the house, and the thoughtfulness of the owners to stock facial tissue (half of us were sick)! We loved the different areas - the air hockey table, pool table and hot tub were quite popular. I especially loved the tranquility and peacefulness every morning watching the fog drift through the trees in the morning while sitting at the dining room table with a large mug of tea. The garden also is very peaceful - as we were there in January, there weren't any fruits or vegetables to be had. All the beds were very comfortable, although the loft area has a sloped ceiling so the older kids (over 5'8" tall) didn't want to sleep there since they'd hit their heads. The owner and manager were excellent to work with, and answered all my emails patiently. We had a wonderful time. Thank you for sharing your beautiful and comfortable home!"

  • Clean, Peaceful, Comfortable

"Kevin was very accommodating and helped us arrange a last minute stay at his lovely riverside home. The house itself is spacious and very clean, beds were comfortable and it was convenient to have more than one bathroom. Our favorite activities were cooking, lounging in the sun room and slipping into the jacuzzi. The weather was grey and misty, and Guerneville was a little grungy this time of year---all the better for getting groceries, staying in and losing track of time. Would love to come back here in the summer when the river is in full swing. Quick and easy drive from San Fran, great weekend retreat!"

  • Loved, loved, loved this serene and comfortable cottage!

"My family, consisting of myself, husband and two boys, ages 10 and 15, stayed here in July for a portion of our two week vacation around Northern California and were so pleasantly surprised and happy that we were able to stay in this super cozy vintage cottage! Initially we were a little taken aback by some of the first people we encountered in the area (a woman with tattoos, leather bustier, studded dog collar, and blue hair staying nearby) and later learned that this area is a bit of a haven for people who want to 'drop out' of society but that didn't deter us, and we weren't bothered by anyone so that was a non issue. The long walk up the many stairs also was,at first, a little worrying (I have a bum knee) but that too turned out not to be too much of a problem (having a strapping 15 year old boy to carry bags also helped a lot!). At the end of our stay, none of us wanted to leave! The cottage's decoration was spot on (I'm in the design field) for a 1930's cottage with Pottery Barn colors and quality furniture (especially the super comfortable mattresses...Memory foam) and accessories. High thread count sheets, good down filled pillows, new TV plus sound system with IPod hook up available, the hot tub (which was perfect after a day of activities), small but functional and cute kitchen, great balcony for morning coffee, and the two bathrooms was just perfect for us! Once we had 'moved in' the place had such a great energy! My husband slept in which he never does and even my 10 year old loved the place! It was great having access to the washer-dryer which was downstairs in the laundry room (complete with laundry detergent...I had brought my own but it is good for those who don't). There were also blow up rafts available and a kayak for taking down to the beach down by the river. The price of this place is reasonable as well considering it has two bathrooms, which was such a plus for having our two boys sharing the smaller bedroom. The cottage had everything and anything one could want in vacation rental (I have stayed in many and this one is great!). My only suggestion would be to try to figure out a way to put some screens on the vintage windows and possibly a Phantom screen on the French doors. There were screens in some of the windows and not on others and at night, we had some Mosquitos coming in so we had to keep some windows closed (it was warm during the day and no A/C that we could find). I would highly recommend this rental! Super cozy and clean!"

  • The perfect place

"Every year my two oldest friends and I spend a weekend together reminiscing about our 40+ years of friendship. This year it was my responsibility to find a location and I was lucky enough to find the Memory Lane Home. Quiet, beautiful, slow and peaceful are the words that come to mind. Nestled in the woods, close to fantastic food and music, great for just walking around, a few minutes walk from the beautiful Russian River, it was everything we could have hoped for. And the place itself? Perfect. Comfortable, clean, and well maintained, the house had everything we needed. If you're looking for a place to stay up at the Russian River, I highly recommend you choose this beautiful place."
