  • The idyllic, perfect setting for a couples retreat in Sonoma wine country

"It's hard to find words to explain how incredible this place is. The photos do not do it justice. Just a few convenient minutes from Healdsburg, you turn up a little driveway that curves under low hanging trees to your private oasis overlooking Dry Creek Road vineyards (West Wines, to be exact). It's out of a magazine. Everything is first class - towels, dishware, lighting, décor - it's better than a 5 star hotel. Surrounded by pomegranate trees, fresh herbs, and lemon trees, you walk into a perfectly decorated farm-like house with all white walls, gorgeous décor, a new kitchen and bath, and even a big laundry room with baskets and shelves. Out back is a big table to have a picnic, as well as 4 chairs with cushions where we took in the warm sun before our first tasting each day. The French Press was a plus, as was the unique half door that opens so you can feel the crisp fall air and see the vineyards thru the trees. I would never pick another place to stay and I hope to come back for years to come. Oh! And we went running everyday across the street in the vineyards - what a wonderful way to see the land up close. Our favorite marker for getting back was a sign that said "Left at Chardonnay". Sounds like a movie. And in some ways, this really was. Thank you!!"

  • Great river access

"We had a wonderful weekend away at the Hideaway. The rooms are really small (as pictured), but cozy. The living and dining rooms are large and comfortable - plenty of room to gather. The best part of the house is the dock. It has shade and sun, is located on a great part of the river and was big enough for our group to hang out there all day! Note: bring your own river "gear" (chairs, towels, etc.) as they are not provided with the house. The house also worked well for kids. There was room for them to play on the floor in the house and there was even some kid-friendly dishes/utensils in the well-stocked kitchen. We would definitely come again!"

  • Fantastic location!

"Words can't do justice to the wonderful time we had here. The home was truly beautiful in many ways. Everything inside is set to perfection. The owners are very friendly and were always available if we had any questions. It was so peaceful and relaxing. We can't wait to plan another trip there!"

  • Above it all

"My husband, two dogs and I spent 10 lovely days at this beautiful property. We enjoyed the most perfect weather and took advantage of the location by roaming to the coast (about 30 mins away) to Healdsburg and the wineries of the Russian River Valley. The pictures and the description are very accurate. What you don't see is the little and thoughtful details the owners provide: plenty of towels, sample beauty products (in case you forgot your own), a very stocked pantry to borrow from. The house is beautifully laid out, with nicer furniture than your average rental and Suzanne was very responsive, especially via e-mail. Most important to me, the house was impeccably clean and the kitchen was very well equipped. Because our stay was a bit longer than average, I wished I had brought more movies with me. Unless you want to pay a WiFi fee, you can't stream lots of data and the Redbox selection at Safeways was below average. But we caught up on all our reading! I loved not having shades in the bedroom but, if you can't sleep with light, the downstairs bedroom is shaded. I walked the dogs every morning down into town - walking back up is not for the faint of heart but great exercise! I would definitely recommend. My dogs loved it too."
