  • Spring Break with Family

"This home was so beautiful and amazing. My family including the grandparents came along to visit my son in college. It was so comfortable, relaxing and we had great family meals. The kitchen had everything you needed and we made most of the meals here since my family wanted to eat home cooked meals. It was also very clean and comfortable. Lisa was so nice and made everything so efficient. Kimberly also met us at the house to explain how everything worked and gave us their numbers if we had any questions. They truly made us feel like part of their family. We walked across the street to a beautiful hiking trail to the lake. This was the most wonderful family vacation and this home was great for our whole family. From the grandparents, to my youngest daughter, everyone enjoyed themselves. This home had everything you needed including a beautiful view and a nice hot tub. I highly recommend this home…you will just be amazed."

  • GREAT PLACE TO STAY FOR A WEDDING WEEKEND

"We were visiting Santa Rosa for a family wedding and chose this home because it was close to where the bride and groom lived. We were 3 couples, one with a toddler, another couple solo and another couple with 2 college-age girls. The main space of the house was big enough that everyone was happy and we didn't get in each other's way. The master bedroom was spacious and had a small outdoor balcony. One thing to consider is that the bathroom in the master bedroom does not have a door and so if you are 4 people (using the trundle bed) there may be a problem with who is in the room when someone else is showering ... We worked it out so it wasn't a real problem. The other two bedrooms were somewhat small, especially with a crib in one, but like I said, it all worked out. The house was very comfortable and it had every amenity described in the listing. We contacted the owners about the whereabouts of the crib and they were very helpful in pointing us in the right direction. We didn't get to use the pool because it wasn't warm enough, but I should think in the warmer months it would get a lot of use! It was a very nice place to stay and we would recommend it to others!"

  • Home away from home

"This gorgeous house, located only a minutes drive from downtown Santa Rosa, was the perfect spot for our 5 week stay over the holiday season. It was a very spacious house, with wood finishings and a beautiful garden and outdoor dining area. The owners were fantastic hosts and were there to help whenever we had any questions. It was also a great location for our group of 5, which included a young toddler. Close to local supermarkets, shopping centres and parks with great walking tracks. Highly recommend to all and hope to stay again when back in Santa Rosa."

  • Cool Place. Could use some maintenance.

"I will begin by saying i wasn't the initial renter of the property. But i stayed with my wife and three small kids and some other family for a week. It worked out great for us as far as the location and the overall general use of the home. It has plenty of ammenities. We came in at night which was sort of eerie, i would recommend coming in for your first glance at daytime just to get your bearings. Lightbulbs were out on the side garage so we couldn't see very well. I changed the bulbs and a couple more in the house during the week. The place was thoroughly stocked with everything you would need to fix general issues if they arose. While it seems like you're in the middle of nowhere, everything is pretty close (within 15 minutes to stores), 25 minutes to santa rosa and other areas. The home itself is cool, my sons loved it, especially the hideaway accessible via a ladder in one of the upstairs bedrooms. They used this throughout the week to play. Lots of natural light, very interesting layout but definitely worked well for the adults being able to stay up while the kids are in bed and not being too loud. Place could've used another TV upstairs or in another room as there is only one TV in the house it makes it hard especially when you have kids who may want to watch cartoons etc. Luckily we had Ipad's and stuff, (the WIFI was spotty once i got it working). The shower upstairs wasn't great, it's a big old tub with a dirty curtain around it. The water smelled like sulfur. I would recommend to the owner that they get the water conditioning system working again. I checked outdoors to see if it was working and to see if there were salt crystals anywhere. I have a similar system at my own home and i know they can be a pain to maintain especially if you're not there all the time. I know what it's like to be on a well and sometimes it's just difficult to keep good tasting/smelling water. We didn't drink the water other than to make coffee or cook pasta etc. The pool area was cool, a little cold to swim for the time of year. I couldn't figure out how to heat the pool, i'm not sure there was actually a pool heater. That said, we did not call the owner and ask. The hot tub is good, it gets pretty hot. Overall the place was very good but the water & general maintenance could've been better. Everyone was creeped out by the big horse photo. Some cool art in the place and a guitar which was cool since i am a guitar player."
