"This is my first experience with a VRBO rental and it has been a nice one. Communication with the owners from the moment I inquired about the rental to the day I left it to go back home has been responsive, quick, and comfortable. I didn't meet Shannon while I was there, but George greeted me shortly after I arrived. The guesthouse was unlocked so I could enter the property without having to wait for someone to let me in. Music played quietly inside, which helped me in settling in. George showed me around the place, pointed out where things are kept and how gadgets worked. There were breakfast items and snacks in the kitchen and the bathroom was well stocked with items for at least the first day. Considering I drove for 10 hours to get to Sebastopol, if I had come in empty handed, there wouldn't have been any need to make a trip to the store that night. The guesthouse was very private, at a good distance away from the main house, with trees and the yard separating the two, so we didn't see or hear each other coming or going. It was well built, clean, and beautifully and comfortably furnished. George showed me the garden and gave me permission to pick what I wanted. Although it was only four miles from the center of town, it felt like a world away. Quiet rural roads surround it. For someone like me, who made the trip specifically to take in the pleasures of cycling, the area was heaven. I wasn't able to visit the famous vineyards because I was on my bike all day everyday, taking in as much riding as I could, knowing that there were so many infrequently traveled roads that offered pastoral views for me to enjoy. I was able to start all but one of my rides from the guest house, going on generally quiet roads with only a few miles of main highways to connect them. I believe I saw all the regions of the entire county by bike! The things that can be improved about this stay are minor, but I will mention them as such changes can make a difference: (1) A toaster oven instead of a traditional toaster would be preferable since the guesthouse doesn't have a range (stove/oven). A guest can reheat pizza or a sandwich, toast bread with cheese on it to melt, or roast veggies in a toaster oven but can't do so with a traditional toaster. (2) For a rental in wine country, this one sorely lacked a wine bottle opener. (3) The sizes of the bowls and plates were repetitive. It needs larger bowls for mixing. But overall, this rental is a gem, and I plan to come back next year."
