"My friend and I, who are both caring for dependent parents, needed an escape and decided on a trip to wine country. I am so glad we chose Black Knight Vineyards, as we were easily in range of all the area's attractions, but also because we got the peace and tranquility we were so in need of. Our host's amiable demeanor laid the groundwork, the two family dogs provided comic relief, and the absolutely beautiful setting and views from the guest house were above what we expected. We got to ride out the "epic storm" with the aid of two pellet stoves which kept the house very comfortable, and we enjoyed the hot tub so much that we sat out in it in the rain while watching the valley below. In the morning, a herd of Angus cows munched grass in view of the kitchen window, and in the afternoon a dozen horses appeared in the front of the property. We were a 5 minute ride from Matanzas Creek Winery, which was our first sampling stop, but the Black Knight Vineyard Chardonnay and Pinot Noir were both excellent and worth coming for. We also made a visit to some tasting rooms in Healdsburg and Sebastapol, and visited the Charles Schulz Museum in Santa Rosa, so plenty to do within reach. But it was after returning "home" in the evening to the guest house with our wine, cheese and bread that our real vacation began. This guest house has everything you need... and more!"Guest: Margaret M. Date of Stay: December 2014 Review Submitted: December 18, 2014View listing
"Stayed at the cottage over July 4th weekend with my wife and toddler. Everything was as good or better than described. The property feels secluded despite being close to major activities. My daughter enjoyed exploring the garden and blowing bubbles on the deck. Interior accommodations are simple but loving and owner is a pleasure to deal with."Guest: hunter w. "I have rented a lot of places on VRBO and this one was absolutely fabulous! My first comment, which is the one thing that I must have when renting a place, is that it was VERY CLEAN!!! We rented this for a 40th B-day weekend with 6 girls and it was great to have such large rooms, the house was nicely laid out, and it had great supplies, spices, etc. in the kitchen! The hot tub was nice to have and we loved the open concept in the kitchen were there was so much room for all of us to be in. Like one review said, there isn't great cell reception in the house....but we didn't care, it was girls weekend and we wanted to disconnect from busy lives, work, etc. However, you walk out the door and sit on the steps, you'll get reception, not a big deal at all. It was in a very very nice neighborhood and in the middle of all of the places we wanted to go, Napa, Sonoma, Healdsburg....just perfect! We will definitely be back to this house, what a great find!!! Thanks, Anthony!!!"Guest: Anonymous Date of Stay: July 2014 Review Submitted: August 4, 2014View listing
"What a perfect wine-tasting get-away! Perfect for two couples with quiet and beautiful surroundings. So close to town and yet feels like you're in the woods, especially when partaking in the hot tub with the brightest stars I've seen in a long time. Allen was the perfect host, meeting us upon arrival and opening up his home to us. Will recommend to friends and will definitely return!"Guest: Anonymous Date of Stay: August 2014 Review Submitted: August 18, 2014View listing
