  • There's this magical place......shhh don't tell anyone.

"We spent 4 nights at the tree house in August of 2014. We have been to many special places and this is right at the top of our list. Here you are in the redwoods...literally. The cottage is really a series of levels built organically into a steep slope in the redwoods overlooking the Russian River. Sauna, hot tub, beautiful outdoor fireplace, and a magical serene setting. Everywhere you look on the property you see the evidence of the personal artistic and loving touch of the owner. Perfectly, cozy, private, and spectacular."

  • A treasure in the vineyards!

"What a treasure, indeed. Everything about this quiet, homey retreat was perfect for our group of nine friends. We had plenty of space to be together, and places to be apart. The kitchen had everything we needed for cooking full meals, plenty of plates, silver and glassware, and plenty of room to cook together. The patio and pool area were welcoming and landscaped beautifully. A rainy evening (yay for rain in parched California) found us huddled around one of two dining tables, working on one of many jigsaw puzzles available - we did three in our three days there. There is also a cupboard full of board games, and a library of interesting books. There were spots to sit and read, maps and directions for several bike rides and walks, the sound of crickets and frogs in the evening, and a wealth of birds to watch in the day (one of our group identified 24 different species one morning). The houses were sparklingly clean, and well supplied. The owners were responsive and answered all of our myriad questions promptly and clearly. On our first full day, as we sat on the patio drinking wine and enjoying the sunshine we spent some time discussing when we could schedule a return visit! Thanks MaryBeth and Ron for sharing your vacation rental with us. We will be back."

  • A Jewel of a Place

"This is a great location that places you in the middle of the wine country action. The owners are super easy to work with and extremely responsive. My wife, my son and his wife all shared this comfortable, well-appointed cottage and had a blast. A couple miles down the road are major grocery stores, including a Whole Foods, where we scored most of our provisions on those nights we decided to avail ourselves of the spacious kitchen and roomy, attractive dining area. The back patio seating area is completely enclosed and beautifully landscaped. Definitely grab this place for your next stay in the region."

  • Exactly what we needed…and exactly what was promised

"This is a lovely, welcoming, and comfortable home. It's exactly as you'd picture a home on the coast - you can tell that the owners have furnished it with care and lots of thought - but also made sure that everything isn't so "precious" or untouchable that you are afraid to curl up with a cup of coffee and a book on the couch. It's the kind of home we live in - so to experience it on holiday was perfect. The owners have provided games and puzzles, movies, books and an iPod docking station in the pool table room just in case so you can enjoy good tunes while being terrible at pool (like we are!). The home is cozy but also spacious enough for multiple activities - playing pool, ping-pong, hot tubbing, watching a movie, playing a game, or sitting in front of the (easiest to light ever) gas fireplace. The kitchen is complete with enough tools and cookware to make it easy to make a meal, and stocked with everything you'd want on a getaway (namely wine glasses!) but also a large bowl for cracked crab and other staples. I also appreciate that it is truly pet-friendly. I have been to homes in the past that say they are, but don't really seem to be and I spend half my time being nervous. There were dog dishes already there to use, and even little collection bags provided by the management company - just in case. I can tell that the owners truly mean it when they say that pets are welcome. Beach access is just a short walk to the golf course and down a path - easy to get to and quick to get back to the house after a long walk. The management company checked in twice to see if we needed anything and were easy to work with through the entire process - start to finish. We had a wonderful time and will return to this lovely place."
