  • Luxury in Irvine, with coffee to go

"This is our second time in this condo and we loved it. High end kitchen appliances. Two parking spaces (underground). Very nice pool and spa (that nobody uses so you have it to yourself). Starbucks and LA Fitness are within walking distance. The TV has direct TV with DVR so we were recording tons of shows (sports for me). Wi-Fi. Everything you can ask for. No issues and the residents are very friendly."

  • Wonderful enchanting trip

"I booked this property to house all my five children, spouses, three grandchildren to attend the wedding of one of my sons. We had the best time, my children loved this property. We loved being able to be together in one place instead of a hotel. The house is so well appointed, we did a bit of cooking. It is just beautiful and the gardens and pool area provided many spaces to explore and enjoy."

  • The BEST

"I rented this house to accommodate some family and friends during the weekend wedding of my son. Not only was this place intrinsically the perfect weekend getaway , in this instance it was also the perfect peaceful retreat to escape to in-between the fun, but often hectic events involved in a very busy weekend wedding. Just sitting on the deck watching Mother Nature choreograph the perfect dance of wind, wave, pelicans in flight and sunset or sunrise lighting was enough to relax and calm (with or without a glass of wine in hand) a happy , but at time, stressed mother of the groom! We even saw whales, dolphin and sea lion. The house was very well equipped with all you would need for a stay at the beach, including beach towels, chairs, bogey-boards, kids beach toys. The kitchen and bedrooms were equally well appointed with all you need. Some of the best sleeping around, with the ocean waves to help you nod off. And, Chris, the owner, was available at all times. Though I didn't need to call him at all during the stay, prior to, when I had some questions he answered his phone always and was extremely helpful, a pleasure to do business with! The day I returned home I received a call from him to let me know that I had accidentally left a pair of earrings there (a fav) and would I like him to sent them to me! I texted him my address and a couple of hours later he texted back that they were on their way. AND he was in the throws of getting ready to leave for a trip to Spain the very next day! I have done a fair number of vacation rentals and this experience was by far the very best in all ways!! Thank you Chris"

  • My Heaven

"For starters, Dave and Nedra are the nicest people I have ever met. I feel like I have made a great friendship with them. Thanks to a cancellation, I had my chance to finally stay on the property. This is absolutely a home away from home. Thanks to the thoughtfulness of Nedra, I had the opportunity to take a 2nd visit to Old Station and it was sorely needed and appreciated more than anyone would know. This property is outstanding. It's peaceful and beautiful. Plenty of room for a "gang." With all the privacy you could ever ask for, this is a wonderful place to fish. We caught our limits on fish. It is obvious this property is immaculately kept and Dave and Nedra have great pride in it, as they should. There is stuff (spices, plates, hot chocolate, etc.) in the cabinets in the event you forgot something. The big screen television with Dish is amazing. Finally, a place with real television! The propane bar-b-q on the patio makes grilling meals so easy. The furniture and bedrooms have the most comfortable stuff you don't want to leave ad go home. The bathrooms and showers are like being at home. I will never stay anywhere else and will always accept additional says in the event someone needs to cancel. Thank you Nedra and Dave for having a property I can call "My slice of Heaven.""

California Travel Tips

Our country’s largest state by population, and third largest by area, is home to a wonderful diversity in cultures, climate and landscapes. Here are the top sites to see and things to do in California by region:

The Bay Area

The Bay Area is best known as a free-spirited locale that is home to the biggest tech giants in Silicon Valley, including Facebook, Twitter, Google and Microsoft. It’s anchored by two major cities - San Jose to the south and hilly San Francisco, a major tourist destination on the north end. Here are the top things to do while you’re in the Bay Area:

- Visit the sites in San Francisco. You can’t miss the iconic Golden Gate Bridge - bike across it, walk or take an open-air tour bus to experience the massive bridge in all its glory. Visitors can also take a ferry and tour spooky Alcatraz Island. Other attractions include shopping on Fisherman’s Wharf, checking out the sea lions on Pier 39 and immersing yourself in science at The Exploratorium and California Academy of Sciences. If you’re traveling here in the summer, bring a jacket! SF can be blazing hot and then overcast and chilly within the same day as the famed fog rolls in.

- Head north across the Golden Gate to see the giant redwoods in Muir Woods and check out some excellent wineries in the charming Sonoma and Napa valleys.

- Visit the amazing Monterey Bay Aquarium and nearby beaches San Carlos Beach Park and Pebble Beach.

- Be one with nature at Yosemite National Park in the Sierra Nevadas or climb the famous Half Dome and El Capitan mountains.

- Go skiing or participate in other adventure sports in Lake Tahoe, just north of Yosemite.

Southern California

SoCal, as it’s sometimes called, is one of the sunniest and most celeb-studded places in the country. There’s plenty to do and see in and around Los Angeles and San Diego, the two major cities in the area. Here are the top spots:

- If you’re traveling with kids around L.A., head to Disneyland in Anaheim - the only Disney Park built under the direction of The Man Behind the Magic himself. Or, check out Knotts Berry Farm, a perennial childhood favorite that first opened in 1940. There are roller coasters, kids’ rides, games and plenty of fun for everyone. Don’t miss dining at Mrs. Knott’s California Marketplace for the renowned fried chicken, biscuits and boysenberry pie.

- L.A. is also the epicenter of the entertainment industry. Check out the Hollywood Walk of Fame, take a tour of Universal Studios and hike in the area surrounding the Hollywood Sign.

- Catch a Lakers game or popular concert at the Staples Center

- Take a hike in the Joshua Tree National Park in the beautiful Mojave Desert.

- Southern California is also home to some excellent festivals: Coachella Music Fest in Coachella Valley, the annual L.A. County Fair and the Newport Beach Film Festival, not to mention the Golden Globes and the Academy Awards. If you want to see some major celebrities, hang out in one of the cafes or restaurants on Rodeo Drive.

- If you’re traveling with kids in San Diego, Seaworld or the esteemed San Diego Zoo are excellent options, and Legoland in nearby Carlsbad will provide hours of fun.

- The valleys in central California are less-populated than the coastal areas, but one must-see is the Hearst Castle. It’s an ornate, palatial, 165-room home built for newspaper magnate William Randolph Hearst and set among 127 acres of gardens in San Simeon, halfway between San Francisco and Los Angeles.
