  • Great Cabin

"My friend and I stayed at the cabin. The place was very clean and homely . . . in short, it's a great getaway. I appreciated having the fireplace, which we used all weekend. The kitchen has decent utensils for cooking. No dishwasher. The only negative I would say is that the back patio and front porches are average, and not THAT inviting to hang out. But the inside is very nice and cozy. Owner was also very friendly and helpful."

  • Beautiful place to stay in Denver

"Absolutely stunning condo - beautifully decorated and furnished, yet still homey and very comfortable. Perfect location for visiting Denver, central to everything we wanted to do. Loved the owner's personal welcoming touches like the wine and coffee. Owner was also incredibly responsive with any questions we had. Would absolutely recommend to others and stay here again! Thank you!"

  • Perfect for a family gathering!

"This home exceeded our expectations (and we rent through Homeaway on a regular basis). It was extremely clean and well appointed. Lots of little pleasant surprises (like surplus TP which we rarely see). The owner was very helpful and cooperative. We were here for a wedding at Perry Park Country Club (just 1-1/2 mi away) and were joined by kids, grandkids and my father. Shuttling folks back and forth between the venue and our house was a breeze. Note that, while the home is advertised as 4 BR, it really functions as 5 BR with a queen in the office. The neighborhood is extremely quiet and peaceful with red rocks right behind the house for the grandkids to explore. We saw deer in the yard every day. The pool table and games got plenty of use. There is a nice library of kids movies as well. Nobody got bored! Be advised that there is no internet service in the house. The owner makes this clear but you might just assume they have it. It wasn't a problem for us as we were too busy to surf the net and we got good phone/data service thru our Verizon iPhones. We have already recommended this house to our family in Colorado (even my Dad who is super picky)!"

  • It's So Hard To Even Explain How Amazing This Place Is. Beyond words! Just Spectacular!

"I am the type of person who typically does not take the time to leave feedback, however this time is different because it was just that amazing! This was the most amazing place to stay. My family decided to make the Colorado softball trip a vacation as well, and we could not be happier. I have three kids ages 12 (boy), 12 (girl) and 17(girl) and I can honestly say they rate this as their number one vacation spot. My entire family wants to make this an annual vacation spot! Jude and Andy are amazing, and my kids fell in love with Shane. Shane taught them how to corral horses, brush, saddle, etc. and even ride around the absolutely beautiful property. The kids fell in love with the horses; they know each of them by name. The distance between Denver airport, Evergreen, white water rafting, parks, Evergreen lake, downtown Evergreen and many more places was unbelievably close. We enjoyed paddle boarding on Evergreen lake, hiking on trails, ice cream in downtown Evergreen, outdoor band in Evergreen, shopping in Flat Iron, movies in Flat Iron, white water rafting in Idaho Springs, fly fishing, sightseeing, park visits and so much more. To our surprise everything was very close. In addition to all the fun activities we saw all sorts of wildlife and the Elk are AMAZING. I can’t even tell you how many we saw but they were everywhere and they are HUGE. My son even saw a fox that lives just up the hill! This vacation was different than any other vacation we have ever had. We played, we relaxed and most of all we had the time of our life and bonded as a family like we have never before. We didn’t want to leave! We will without a doubt be back! This property absolutely is a five star, and if we could rate it a ten star we would!"

Denver Area Travel Tips

Denver Vacation Rentals in a Picturesque Setting

Nicknamed “Mile High City,” Denver is exactly 5,280 feet (1,609 meters) high, making the official elevation one mile above sea level. It was established in 1858 when gold was discovered where the South Platte River and Cherry Creek intersect. Prospectors flooded the area and by 1860, there were 100,000 people in Denver. It is now a thriving urban city with museums, shops and historical architecture, surrounded by the beautiful Rocky Mountains. With its top-notch sports teams and excellent reputation for dining, Denver is a great base for enjoying an action-packed vacation.

What Denver Vacation Homes Have to Offer

Renting a fully furnished apartment or log cabin is the best way for families and couples to enjoy the great outdoor space around Denver. Offering more amenities and space than a typical hotel suite, a vacation home makes a great base for guests to come and go as they please. With a fully equipped kitchen and dining area, family meals can be quickly and easily prepared, making for considerable savings. It also enables guests to fully appreciate the environment and “live like a local,” if only for a week. With plenty of space and comfortable living areas, a Denver vacation home allows everyone to spread out and have their own space, with quiet areas for reading away from the TV.

Best way to Travel to Denver

Denver International Airport is just 19 miles from the center of Denver and has plenty of flights daily from all over the U.S. and internationally. Rent a hire car or 4x4 and your fun Denver vacation is about to begin. For those who prefer to take a road trip, Denver is easy to reach from Interstate 70, 76 or 25. A vehicle is advisable for getting around the area although mountain biking, kayaking and walking are also popular.

Places to Visit Around Denver

The downtown historic district of Denver is known as LoDo (Lower Downtown) and has a wealth of historic buildings and landmarks. It is also a great place for dining. Further afield, the Three Sisters Park at Evergreen is a great place for hiking and mountain biking with spectacular views of the Three Sisters Peaks. One of the most popular areas around Denver is Golden, home to the Buffalo Bill Museum and Grave. It now houses Native American artifacts and memorabilia from his Wild West shows. Golden is also the location of the Bradford Washburn American Mountaineering Museum. The Red Rocks Park and Amphitheater has some extraordinary sandstone formations which date back over millions of years. A 1.4-mile trail loops around the area, allowing for the best views. Dinosaur Ridge in Morrison is another unique attraction in an area which is rich in fossils and runs from New Mexico to Canada.

Things to do From Your Denver Lodging

Things to do in and around Denver are almost limitless. Denver has more breweries than any other city in the U.S. so a visit to one of these, coupled with a tasting experience, is a must. The area has many mountain and urban trails for biking and hiking. Shopping, museums, historic attractions and the zoo all make the city area very appealing. Beyond the city, there are hot springs to enjoy, amusement parks, whitewater rafting, train rides, gold mining tours, rock climbing, spelunking (exploring caves), antiquing, sailing, wildlife viewing, bird-watching, fishing, swimming, golf and tennis. During the winter season, skiing, snowboarding, snowmobiling, sledding, snow tubing and ice skiing can be added to the list! There is plenty for all the family to enjoy on a Denver vacation.

Local Weather at Denver Vacation Rentals

Denver enjoys a pleasant semi-arid climate at the base of the Rocky Mountains. Low humidity, moderate temperatures and plenty of sunshine draw visitors all year long. Metro Denver reportedly has 300 sunny days a year. The higher mountains in the area receive a significant amount of snowfall during the winter months.
