  • Halloween Stay at Vista View Ranch

"We arrived the day before Halloween to a wonderfully decorated home and ranch - complete with cobwebs strung on the front entry gate! Our children loved it! There was also so much to do in Evergreen and the children were entertained the entire time! We plan to come back next year and see how it is decorated for Christmas! The beds were super comfortable and my husband loved having a pool table and arcade!"

  • Getaway in the woods

"This was a good getaway. We enjoyed the location very much. Up high on the mountain. Downtown Evergreen just about 30 min away for dining. Also the Brooke Forest Inn is just about 15 min away from the cabin. We enjoyed the quiet and the cool weather! Fireplace works amazingly well. Keeps you VERY toasty at night. Just the perfect amount of space for our family of 4. Could have definitely fit 4 kids in the second bedroom. Having one bathroom could be an issue if you did that though. It was somewhat of an issue for us. The only negatives for us were the limited kitchen tools for cooking. The bathroom tile did have mold on it. Something the owners need to remedy quickly. The photos need to be updated as well. Because the "View" of the mountains off the back porch (that is very run down and somewhat of a mess) is very hard to see. Forest has grown and is much more dense. Making for less of a view. There's also several power lines blocking that view. There are plenty of towels and a great laundry area in the bathroom. We enjoyed that. More paper towels and more toilet paper would have been nice. Again. Location is great if you need some quiet. We could hear the stream from the house and it was not close. That was really neat. So was the sunrise each morning. So great. We would definitely stay again. Hoping the list I just made was fixed."

  • Lucky to have found this place!!

"We stayed in the Evergreen home the first week of June, and can describe it best in three words. Views, views, and views!! What an impressive property!! We were struck by the stunning view when we climbed the stairs and arrived on the main level living area. Panoramic views of the Evergreen Mountains, as well as a few snowcapped Rockies immediately grab your attention. The seclusion of the property provided a tranquility and quietness hard to describe. So quiet you could hear the footsteps of the deer approaching the property as they walked over to greet the out of towners. The last two mornings we had 3 separate deer walk no more than 20 feet away, as we drank coffee on the back porch. The property itself is right off I-70, which made it very easy to travel to Golden, Denver, and surrounding areas. The drive up the mountain road (and subsequent driveway) was a little jarring the first time due to the height and turns, but by the end of the week we were old pros taking the road. And the views as a result of those roads up made it well worthwhile. Rebecca visited us upon arrival, suggesting things to do in town, and Keith was friendly as we passed him chopping wood a couple times on our way to and from the property. We plan to come back next summer, 2015, and we very much hope this property is still available. Thank you Rebecca and Keith for a wonderful stay!"

  • Beautiful Sunrise!

"My husband and I enjoyed staying at the Writer's Nest. We woke to wonderful sunrises each morning. It was a very clean and comfortable rental and I'm sure we will be back."
