  • Wonderful mountain retreat

"This was our first time visiting Colorado, and we came for a concert at Red Rock Amphitheatre. The Writer's Nest was the perfect location as we were centrally located for many sightseeing trips. Michael was more than accomodating, and offered great suggestions for restaurants and points of interest. We loved the charm of the cabin, and marveled at the views, especially the sun peeking over the mountain in the mornings, and the stars at night. This cabin is the perfect getaway for any couple, and the beauty of the surrounding area will leave you wanting to return. Thank you Michael !!!"

  • It's So Hard To Even Explain How Amazing This Place Is. Beyond words! Just Spectacular!

"I am the type of person who typically does not take the time to leave feedback, however this time is different because it was just that amazing! This was the most amazing place to stay. My family decided to make the Colorado softball trip a vacation as well, and we could not be happier. I have three kids ages 12 (boy), 12 (girl) and 17(girl) and I can honestly say they rate this as their number one vacation spot. My entire family wants to make this an annual vacation spot! Jude and Andy are amazing, and my kids fell in love with Shane. Shane taught them how to corral horses, brush, saddle, etc. and even ride around the absolutely beautiful property. The kids fell in love with the horses; they know each of them by name. The distance between Denver airport, Evergreen, white water rafting, parks, Evergreen lake, downtown Evergreen and many more places was unbelievably close. We enjoyed paddle boarding on Evergreen lake, hiking on trails, ice cream in downtown Evergreen, outdoor band in Evergreen, shopping in Flat Iron, movies in Flat Iron, white water rafting in Idaho Springs, fly fishing, sightseeing, park visits and so much more. To our surprise everything was very close. In addition to all the fun activities we saw all sorts of wildlife and the Elk are AMAZING. I can’t even tell you how many we saw but they were everywhere and they are HUGE. My son even saw a fox that lives just up the hill! This vacation was different than any other vacation we have ever had. We played, we relaxed and most of all we had the time of our life and bonded as a family like we have never before. We didn’t want to leave! We will without a doubt be back! This property absolutely is a five star, and if we could rate it a ten star we would!"

  • DELIGHTFUL HOME ON BEAR MOUNTAIN

"We have just returned from a family Christmas and New Year holiday in Evergreen Co. As regular VRBO renters, we used VRBO to choose this home on Bear Mountain. We had 6 adults in the house for most of the holiday month. Susan was extremely helpful with our booking enquiry and providing detailed info on arrival. The Sunset Lane home presented in first class condition and was extremely well provisioned. The 3 level design allows space and privacy for all. A full kitchen with all cooking requirements available - just add main ingredient shopping !!!! All beds were extremely comfortable and the house was always warm and cozy, despite the very cold outside temperatures. Whilst high up on Bear Mountain, the road to Evergreen village (and the main highways) is in good condition and did not provide any difficulty even after heavy snow falls. Take it slow and easy is the safest way. The views of Mt Evans and surrounding area from the balconies are to die for and filled up lots of space on our digital camera. The house seems to have its own resident fox who took his early morning prowl around the ground looking for his daily sustenance. Very cute. Mule deer also regularly roam through the property. This home is an excellent base for a Rocky Mountains Co visit and the owners go out of their way to present a first class home and all information and support required to enjoy the trip. Highly recommended and we will return."

  • Jail House vacation

"We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We love our home away from home. Your decorating is beautiful. Very peaceful and comfortable. Lilke, the cat, greeted us enthusiastically upon our arrival. She was very loved and well fed while we were here. The amenities were great. We especially appreciated the well stocked kitchen and bathroom. The fresh flowers were a special touch. The night lights throughout were very helpful for those of us that need to get up in the middle of the night. One of us enjoyed going to the Broncos game. The other two of us had a great time at the Alabama concert at Red Rocks. 3 Women from San Diego"
