Recent Denver Area reviews

  • Convenient Denver location

"This doorman attended condo has spectacular views in the heart of downtown Denver. It is walking distance to the newly opened Union Station and Coors Field, and its indoor parking makes having a car in the center of downtown easy and safe. The apartment is well laid out, with two queen size beds, and everything you might need for a short stay. Doug was easy to contact, and very helpful. We only hope it'll be available the next time we visit Denver."

  • Great Retreat

"We booked this property for the specific reason of getting away and it did not fail to meet our needs. We spent three nights basically doing nothing, watching the snow fall and the beautiful views of the mountains and wildlife. We would certainly considering going back. We went in winter and cannot emphasize enough the need for a 4 wheel drive vehicle- it was a must getting to the cabin. However, even though it cost more to rent one than another type of car, we were directed to excellent rental car options by the owner and frankly, having to utilize a 4x4 to get there made the place feel even more secluded. We were very comfortable there because our objective was relaxation. It was exactly what we were looking for- however if I was looking for a high energy adventure trip this would not be the place.....and that's a compliment to the cabin. Evergreen, CO was about 20-30 min away (in snow, likely shorter in summer) and it's a quaint, lovely town. Check out Creekside Cellars for a more upscale lunch and great wine or for a wonderful quick meal in a place full of locals, check out Wildflower Cafe. Michael, the owner, greeted us there promptly and was available by phone for questions and recommendations - very friendly. We would highly recommend this place for a couple to relax and unwind. Excellent wifi. Adequate kitchenette with all appliances available. You are asked to clean up after yourself with a list of instructions made available- we didn't mind. Much thanks to Michael for plowing the road after the big snowfall!"

Denver Area Travel Tips

Denver Vacation Rentals in a Picturesque Setting

Nicknamed “Mile High City,” Denver is exactly 5,280 feet (1,609 meters) high, making the official elevation one mile above sea level. It was established in 1858 when gold was discovered where the South Platte River and Cherry Creek intersect. Prospectors flooded the area and by 1860, there were 100,000 people in Denver. It is now a thriving urban city with museums, shops and historical architecture, surrounded by the beautiful Rocky Mountains. With its top-notch sports teams and excellent reputation for dining, Denver is a great base for enjoying an action-packed vacation.

What Denver Vacation Homes Have to Offer

Renting a fully furnished apartment or log cabin is the best way for families and couples to enjoy the great outdoor space around Denver. Offering more amenities and space than a typical hotel suite, a vacation home makes a great base for guests to come and go as they please. With a fully equipped kitchen and dining area, family meals can be quickly and easily prepared, making for considerable savings. It also enables guests to fully appreciate the environment and “live like a local,” if only for a week. With plenty of space and comfortable living areas, a Denver vacation home allows everyone to spread out and have their own space, with quiet areas for reading away from the TV.

Best way to Travel to Denver

Denver International Airport is just 19 miles from the center of Denver and has plenty of flights daily from all over the U.S. and internationally. Rent a hire car or 4x4 and your fun Denver vacation is about to begin. For those who prefer to take a road trip, Denver is easy to reach from Interstate 70, 76 or 25. A vehicle is advisable for getting around the area although mountain biking, kayaking and walking are also popular.

Places to Visit Around Denver

The downtown historic district of Denver is known as LoDo (Lower Downtown) and has a wealth of historic buildings and landmarks. It is also a great place for dining. Further afield, the Three Sisters Park at Evergreen is a great place for hiking and mountain biking with spectacular views of the Three Sisters Peaks. One of the most popular areas around Denver is Golden, home to the Buffalo Bill Museum and Grave. It now houses Native American artifacts and memorabilia from his Wild West shows. Golden is also the location of the Bradford Washburn American Mountaineering Museum. The Red Rocks Park and Amphitheater has some extraordinary sandstone formations which date back over millions of years. A 1.4-mile trail loops around the area, allowing for the best views. Dinosaur Ridge in Morrison is another unique attraction in an area which is rich in fossils and runs from New Mexico to Canada.

Things to do From Your Denver Lodging

Things to do in and around Denver are almost limitless. Denver has more breweries than any other city in the U.S. so a visit to one of these, coupled with a tasting experience, is a must. The area has many mountain and urban trails for biking and hiking. Shopping, museums, historic attractions and the zoo all make the city area very appealing. Beyond the city, there are hot springs to enjoy, amusement parks, whitewater rafting, train rides, gold mining tours, rock climbing, spelunking (exploring caves), antiquing, sailing, wildlife viewing, bird-watching, fishing, swimming, golf and tennis. During the winter season, skiing, snowboarding, snowmobiling, sledding, snow tubing and ice skiing can be added to the list! There is plenty for all the family to enjoy on a Denver vacation.

Local Weather at Denver Vacation Rentals

Denver enjoys a pleasant semi-arid climate at the base of the Rocky Mountains. Low humidity, moderate temperatures and plenty of sunshine draw visitors all year long. Metro Denver reportedly has 300 sunny days a year. The higher mountains in the area receive a significant amount of snowfall during the winter months.
