  • Great mountain hangout!

"My friends and I spent a few days at Casita Colorado and had a great time! Scott was awesome, from advising us on travel in heavy snow, to showing us all of the features of the property and making sure were were all set. We hit some freaky April weather and it turns out we could have planned a ski trip, but instead we had a good excuse to enjoy the place, play some board games, and hang out in the hot tub. Overall we had a really relaxing and fun time, and it was a great setting to reconnect with friends!"

  • Great cabin

"We enjoyed our time very much. We stayed there mid May and it was chilly. But we kept warm thanks to an excellent heater. The cabin is very nice and clean. Secluded and private. Very close to Estes park and all the destinations we were planning on visiting."

  • Great home and even better value

"My husband, two dogs, and I have stayed at the Peace Chalet twice now. The house is huge and in a great location close to the downtown of the fun little town of Nederland. We loved the passive solar heating and abundance of natural light that the floor to ceiling windows on two floors provided. The hot tub was a definite plus! After our awesome stay last year, we browsed around VRBO.com to try to see if we could find something that could beat the value that Peace Chalet offered, and we couldn't find anything in the area. This is a great place that could comfortable accommodate at least 6 or 7 people, and probably more. The decks were updated this year and look great too. Thank you!"

  • Great anniversary celebration and reunion

"Our children arranged for this vacation with the owner, and 17 family members arrived to help my husband and me celebrate our 60th wedding anniversary. Our children are from Nebraska, North Carolina, and Pennsylvania, and grandchildren are from California, Texas, Washington, DC, and Georgia. Two great grandchildren were there, too. It was a perfect family reunion, and several grandchildren had never met. The Great Room provided space for everyone to eat, watch TV, and play games. The balcony was our favorite place to stay. We love your website and copied some of the photographs. The family insisted that we have the master suite, and we felt like royalty - such elegant bedding and linens. Everyone had a comfortable bed, and the kitchen had everything we could possibly need to prepare several meals. Everything was in perfect condition, and we found whatever we needed by pulling out a drawer or opening a cabinet door. We went to Rocky Mountain National Park several times and enjoyed hiking for many miles. The downtown area was fun for shoppers and geocachers. Elk were at the wildlife viewing area at the park and in the back and side yards of the home. They were favorites of all the photographers. We saw a perfect rainbow late one afternoon and photographed it. We enjoyed the hot tub and playing some of the games. Our family members all live a long ways from Estes Park, but I would certainly recommend it to anyone who is heading in that direction. It was a fantastic vacation for four generations."

Front Range Travel Tips

Colorado’s Front Range, a Great Vacation Destination

The "Front Range" is a colloquial term for the area located just east of the foothills of the Front Range. It covers the areas of Boulder, Black Hawk, Central City, Clear Creek County, Estes Park, Fort Collins, Golden, Greeley, Longmont, Loveland and Nederland. Situated less than an hour’s drive from Denver and its major airport, you will find yourself in the foothills of the Front Range Mountains. Average temperatures here are in the mid-20s Fahrenheit in winter to the high-80s Fahrenheit in summer.

Getting around this beautiful area could not be easier. Good interstate and main highways make accessing each of the wonderful cities and towns simple and convenient. In fact, there are more scenic and historic drives within easy distance of our Front Range vacation homes than any other state in the country.

An Ideal Outdoor Experience for the Whole Family

For a vacation where outdoor activities and sight-seeing are high on your "to do" list, you will be delighted with a Front Range lodging. Wherever you choose as a base your vacation, you will find plenty to do and see. It is said that the Front Range inspired the words for "America the Beautiful" and once here, you will understand why. To see the panorama that inspired these words, take the Pikes Peak Cog Railway. On the trip, you will pass by some of the oldest living things on earth--the bristlecone pines. Some of which are over 2,000 years old! Give the kids a taste of farm life by visiting a real working farm. Or visit the Arapaho and Roosevelt National Forest and Pawnee National Grasslands for 1.5 million acres of wilderness with activities like horse riding, hiking and biking in summer and snowmobiling in winter.

For less active day trips, there are a variety of wonderful drives. The Mount Evans Scenic and Historic Byway will not only provide glorious views, it is also one of the best places to catch sight of the local bighorn sheep. The historic Lariet Loop encompasses the stunning Red Rocks Park and Amphitheatre, the town of Golden--famous for the Coors Brewery--and the sight of the grave of Wild Bill Cody, also known as Buffalo Bill. In Central City, the Victorian age opera house is worth a visit along with the historic Moffat Tunnel. A detour will take you to the ghost towns of Hesse and Apex.

The Majesty of the Mountains

If truly spectacular scenery is a must for your perfect destination, the obvious place to find view after amazing view is the Rocky Mountains. Winter here brings world-famous skiing and the fun continues throughout the year. Whether you want to ride a horse or a bike or just hike, there are an abundance of trails to explore, from easy to death-defying! Just imagine choosing one of our Front Range vacation rentals with the Rocky Mountains as your backdrop!

Pick a Vacation Home on the Front Range

The main reasons why vacationers choose our Front Range vacation homes are convenience, space and choice. We have a wide variety homes in whatever location best suits you, with as much space as you desire. Each home is equipped with everything needed to make the perfect vacation. Property owners are often available to assist with any last minute queries and recommendations. Whether you are a couple, family or large group of friends, there will be a perfect property for your needs. Whether you want a city base or a rural retreat, you will find an ideal home here. What better way to relax after an adventurous day than to return to a comfortable, well-equipped home!
