"We wanted a relaxing anniversary weekend and that was just what we had! The cabin is wonderful, with everything you need. The wood burning stove works very well-we made a nice fire in it the first night and slept very warm. We scaled back on the fire the next nights and slept well. There was lots of snow on the ground and we had lots fall the first day so it was just beautiful. This area is just so pretty! We went into Estes Park and also the Nederlands, took some nice walks and just relaxed at the cabin. I feel like we perfected the art of laziness, which was just what we were hoping to accomplish. It was a great weekend!"

"We just recently returned from a 9 day trip to RMNP and spent the first 6 nights at Greenbrook while we day hiked all over the east side of the park. I had debated staying in Estes Park, but after leaving our quiet little spot in Allenspark and driving through the crowded Estes Park streets, I'm so GLAD we stayed at Greenbrook!!! We drove the 10 minutes to the Wild Basin area for several hikes there (I HIGHLY recommend the Lion Lake trail) and also took at short stroll on the Mt. St. Vrain trail right down the road (and up another dirt one) from Allenspark.
One night my husband and I left our teenagers to fend for themselves and splurged on dinner at The Fawn Brook Inn, practically across the street from the cabin. The food and atmosphere was superb but the hummingbirds buzzing throughout the flowers in the front made the evening even more unique. We felt like we were in some kind of enchanted garden. 😉
Our daughter stayed in the second bedroom and our 14yr old took the loft where he had PLENTY of room. Two middle school aged kids could easily sleep in that space....or even 3 grade school kids (as long as one didn't roll around a lot). While he couldn't stand up completely to change clothes, he had plenty of space to stretch out. The other two bedrooms were private and quiet - as was the whole cabin. We could catch glimpses of other homes through the trees but still felt completely alone in the woods with a babbling brook nearby.
The drive into Estes Park and the Beaver Meadows entrance took about 20-30 minutes. If you're traveling in the summer I would recommend early starts to those more popular trails. Parking is usually full by 9am, but by driving early in the morning we not only avoided traffic on the roads, but we were also treated to bear, moose and multiple elk sightings.
Greenbrook was clean, comfortable and stocked with all the necessities to cook a good meal after a day on the trails. A binder is provided with additional information about the area. I'm glad we were mindful of the instructions to not keep groceries in the car. One morning there were large bear prints outside and an overturned (but safety locked) garbage can. While I know it's a minor annoyance for people who live in Allenspark, for us it just added to our fabulous adventure!!
I would recommend this cabin to a friend and we would definitely stay here again!!!"

"You can't beat the location for this place. It has a secluded feeling but is conveniently located close to hiking and main roads. Follow the directions given from the web site. Our children and grandchildren were visiting from Indiana. The house has 4 large bedrooms two living rooms and a large kitchen/dining room. It also has a wrap around porch with an amazing display of humming birds! There is a pen with horses and llamas a few feet off of the East side back porch. The very friendly owners live in a mobile home a few feet from the West side back porch. There had recently been a bear siting so we had to protect our cars. The inside of the house was very clean and we did take advantage of the laundry room when our grandchildren spilled some soup on the tablecloth. The home was decorated in a western theme. Unfortunately the walls of the family room was filled with a dead Bison, Elk, and antelope heads which scared the bejeezus out of our granddaughters. We had to make up a story that they were really big stuffed animals. Also the house has quite a few antiques and delicate decorations with signs saying "Don't Touch". This house is perfect for adults but not for small children."
