"What a beautiful home on the Big Thompson. We felt at home as soon as we opened the door!! Every corner of the house was immaculate (and I'm really a crazy person about that :-)). The floor plan was great and the kids LOVED, LOVED, LOVED the loft in their bedroom. The fact that each room had it's own private bath was awesome as well. We were on the go most of our stay in Estes but when we were at "home" we were always on the back porch visiting, grilling and just relaxing after a busy day. The full sized washing machine and dryer worked great and were so nice to have after a dusty day of horseback riding and the gas grill was a bonus as well!! The river was running fast and the noise lulled us to sleep each night. It was nice to see that there was no flood damage along that stretch of the river. Estes is a must do destination and your home is a must stay retreat. We truly enjoyed our family vacation; it's one of the best we've ever taken!!! Thanks again for sharing your lovely home. We will be back!!! Maybe next time we will see the bear. :-)"Guest: Christy Date of Stay: June 2014 Review Submitted: July 1, 2014View listing
"We booked the house for a family hiking weekend. 5 adults and 2 young children (4 and 7 years old). What a gorgeous home! The property is just secluded enough to feel like you're away from everything but close enough to the main road to get into Estes Park easily. Everything was clean and well stocked. The beds were comfortable and everything worked fine. The owners live on the property in an RV. They're extremely friendly folks with lots of cool information about the area. (follow their bear advice, it'll save your car from being rummaged through). The kids had a blast feeding the horse and exploring the woods behind the house. We'll definitely be back!"Guest: Jay S. "My family thoroughly enjoyed our time at this beautiful mountain cabin. The views were breathtaking. It was close enough to Estes Park that we could easily go into town to enjoy the shops and Rocky Mountain National Park. The owners were warm and friendly and gave us excellent dining recommendations. The cabin was clean roomy even with eight people staying there. The kitchen was equipped with everything we need for our holiday feast. Our dogs were welcome which was a big plus. I would definitely recommend this home for your vacation needs, and we plan on staying again the next time we're in the area."Guest: Brenda S. "I am sitting on the deck having my morning "tea" and enjoying waking up with the birds & the sounds of the Big Thompson River!! We have really enjoyed our stay! We have spent a lot of time on the deck finishing the day with our "sundowners" and cooking on the grill. We appreciated the "Tips" from the owners for dinning out. Enjoyed the trout @ the Sundeck Restaurant and yesterday we drove to Allenspark and enjoyed lunch @ the Fawn Brook Inn. We visited with a lady, who was also there, and is the great niece of the original owners. My husband was able to do some fishing right around the cabin area. Eddy, @ Estes Mountain shop, was very helpful as to what was "biting" in the area and which flys to use. I was able to do quite a bit of shopping. I parked my car at the Visitors center and took the free trolley downtown. I walked back along the river walk. The next trip I parked my car there again but this time I walked down and back. On the last day we did a little more exploring and visited the Stanley Hotel. We had been there years before but this time we took the "official" tour (it was scheduled for 90 min.) our guide, Shawn, took 2hrs. and it was well worth the time. We dined on the patio of the Cascade Restaurant. Our table was by the water fall and we enjoyed our meal. My husband got in one last day of fishing and of course, we spent our final evening on the deck we have enjoyed so much. We thank the owners for all their help and patience assisting us with our trip to Colorado. We appreciate all the "extras" they provided."Guest: Joyce P.
