  • great place to relax

"We spent a week there with our son and grandkids. It was very comfortable and well maintained. We have been using VRBO for our annual summer travels with our grandkids for the last 8 years. This unit was the best one we have ever stayed in. The security people were very friendly and helpful. If you are looking for a great place to get away from the hustle & bustle of urban life, this is the place to go. It is located in a very serene area with great amenities. It is about a 45 minute drive (very easy drive with great views) to Fort Collins if you are wanting to go to restaurants and other urban activities. We did several day trips including a rafting trip, going to Rocky Mountain National Park, and a great day trip along the Cache al Poudre River to take in the beauty of the area. Remember to buy your groceries in Fort Collins. There is a small store about a mile or so away. It has the basics. We did not try the local restaurant about 4 miles away. I highly recommend this rental. It is a great place to just hang out and relax. When we go back to that area, we will see if this unit is available."

  • Wonderful Thanksgiving

"We went up for a week over Thanksgiving, and another couple and their dog met us up there for the second half. The place was very quiet and secluded - and Dorian (the dog) loved it, felt instantly at home. There are a few other houses visible from the property, but they are quite far away so it still feels very private. It would have been excellent for snowshoeing if there had been more snow! As it was, the hiking was wonderful. We got to see a moose and her calf on one early morning walk (well…those of us who were up got to see it! The lay-abeds enjoyed their cozy sleeping in time). The mud room off the kitchen was very convenient for keeping our extra supplies nearby, but out of the way. The fireplace is wonderful, and plenty of wood was stocked and available for us to use. The hot tub was also great - though it was pretty windy and cold while we were up there so we didn't get to use it as much as we would have liked. There is wireless internet for those of us who can't avoid checking in at work now and then. It's a bit slow (which I would expect for the area), but it gets the job done. In the winter, at least, I'd highly recommend arriving in the daylight. It was snowing and overcast when we drove in, with snow-packed roads, which made it a little difficult to see where things were. When our friends arrived a few days later it was bright and sunny, and they had no problems at all. We travel with friends quite a bit, and one thing we really liked about the place is that the upstairs and downstairs bedrooms were identical (no trying to figure out who gets the opulent master suite, while one couple gets stuck with the dingy second bedroom). We had a wonderful time. I'd love to return in the fall sometime, so we could spend some time out on the deck without being too cold."

  • Everything Described & More!

"The photos don't do to this wonderful mountain home justice. We were very happy with our choice to stay here and it was more than we ever expected. My husband and I travel to Colorado every summer and this is one of the most tranquil, beautiful and well cared for vacation homes we’ve found. The cabin sits on a little serene lake with a small stream, which has the most delightful melodic trickle…the best “sleep aid” ever!!! This home has numerous giant windows and a large wrap round deck so no matter where you are, inside or out, you always feel apart of nature’s beauty. No technology needed here – there’s so much to do! We enjoyed watching the hummingbirds at the feeder, the beavers (we think) hard at work in the lake, marshmallows around the fire-pit and the pool table. The cabins interior is well maintained and stocked with every comfort of home. The overall decor and furnishings are charming with a rustic-chic style. The bathrooms and kitchen are CLEAN, modern and have all the amenities needed for a perfect get away. The Red Feather Lakes area is an anglers delight! There are numerous lakes near the cabin stocked with jumbo trout so even unskilled and impatient people like me have a chance to catch a big one. The town itself is very quaint and charming, although, I would recommend if you like to cook and/or require a lot of fresh fruits and veggies to stop in Ft. Collins or any other larger town for supplies. The Red Feather Lakes local grocery stores are small with limited produce and items are costly. Pamela is a dream to work with! She is honest, helpful and was responsive to all our needs and questions. Thank you so much for sharing your wonderful mountain home with us! The Young’s – Omaha NE"

  • The best family vacation thus far!

"Absolutely beautiful home with even better views! We were welcomed by the deer, they visited each morning and most evenings. We saw the moose on the hillside two of the evenings. The home is very well kept and very well appointed. By far my favorite family vacation thus far, we will be back."
