"Very clean, bright, open space home to enjoy the beautiful Breckenridge. Located close enough to walk to Main Street. House was perfect for quite get away or family fun. Backyard was great, with BBQ and deck. Bike and hiking trail right behind the house. Owners were very accommodating and quick with responses. Highly recommended!"Guest: Laura B. "The only reason this is a 5-star review is that 10-stars wasn't an option. We just got back from a long weekend stay at View Manor and it definitely did not disappoint. Breckenridge was the location for an old college roommate get-together and we decided to stay here. We had eleven 30 year-olds (4 couples and 3 singles) out for a weekend of skiing and catching up and View Manor was the perfect lodging choice. In fact, as each new group came into the house each of them echoed the others' sentiments..."this house is awesome!" The photos on the site are a great representation of the house but two things that are lost through the pictures are just how spacious all the bedrooms and living areas are, and also how thoughtfully the home is decorated. It shows that a great deal of time and energy were spent focusing on every detail of the décor to make it perfect. From the custom ironwork on the lamps and bar stools to the countless bear decorations, the home has a very cozy mountain feel. A few things that we were hesitant about when reading about the property, but that proved to be a non-issue were the location and the fact that it's listed as a duplex. - Location: The property is a bit up Baldy mountain which provides spectacular views but puts you a little farther away from the ski lifts than a ski-in/ski-out. We had plenty of cars for our entire group so this was no issue at all as we just took the 5-10 minute drive to the peak 9 parking lot and got first tracks each day. - Duplex: Don't let this scare you away as this is really more of a standalone home. There is only 1 shared wall and we had no issues with hearing the neighbor or being heard ourselves. View Manor would be the perfect place to stay for anyone looking for a spacious, comfortable, well-appointed home in a great location. I would recommend this property to anyone, and when we begin planning our next reunion in the mountains, I will definitely get in touch with David in hopes that View Manor is available for a repeat stay. Thanks for everything View Manor (and David) you definitely helped make our reunion trip so memorable!"Guest: IU Hoosiers Date of Stay: February 2014 Review Submitted: February 27, 2014View listing
"We were two familes on a skiing holiday. It was our first time to Breckenridge. The house is spacious, and comfortable. Pool table and hot tub were great. Nicely decorated, with absolutely stunning views of the slopes. Ambient heat system is almost too good! About 4 miles out of town. We drove into town, but there is a Summit Stage bus stop about 5-10 walk (depending on what you're wearing on your feet!) from the house. We did use the bus sometimes and it was really convenient. Ryan went above and beyond the call of duty, which is a testament to how well the property is managed, and how customers are valued. We made the mistake of not renting a 4WD vehicle. Ryan helped us source some tire cables for the car, and then we were mobile again. Without them I don't know what we would have done. Definitely rent 4WD if you are staying in the winter. The roads out of town to the house are hilly. They are all plowed, but the last couple don't get gritted. We would highly recommend Blue River Sports for ski rentals -- convenient to the Village, individual boot fitting, and they stored our skis every night. Especially great if you're taking the bus in and out of town. Tubing at Frisco Adventure Park was great. Very well organised. And easy to reserve online in advance. We also did the Two Below Zero Sleigh/Dinner ride which was superb. We were really happy with our choice of property, as noted above. My only caution to potential renters is that this house is not as well "stocked" as other vacation rentals we've had. There was toilet paper, dish washing soap, diswasher detergent, garbage bags. But no laundry soap, bounce sheets, paper towels, foil, plastic wrap. Salt and pepper but no other spices, oil, etc. All things that you don't really want to buy a whole bottle of for a week. The upside is that there was no old supplies lying around, but sometimes it's nice to find those things in the cupboard."Guest: The Pips Date of Stay: February 2014 Review Submitted: March 20, 2014View listing
"This home was absolutely wonderful and the owners could not have been more accommodating!! We were welcomed with a sweet note and a bottle of Chardonnay! And when we had a question about the hot tub, the owners got back to us within MINUTES! That has never happened with a VRBO property! We planned a ski trip as a family reunion and this home was the perfect fit for our needs. The main floor is big and open with the kitchen being in the center - to the left of the kitchen is a dining area and to the right is the big living area. Our group of 9 was able to eat meals together at the big dining table (so great) and after a day at the slopes, we all fit comfortably in the living room for movies and board games. Having a working grill on the living room porch was a huge plus for us and we used it almost every night! The hot tub is just 2 tiny steps away from the garage (believe me, we counted how many steps because Breckenridge in the winter is not a place you want to be running around in your swimsuit from the house to the hot tub!) so it didn't feel like a hassle to hit the hot tub after skiing all day. It was perfect!! The views are truly as great as they seem. Huuuge windows look out onto the slopes from the living room and the master bedroom - so gorgeous. The laundry room was on the garage level, which was great. Get inside, take all your ski gear off, throw it in the washer and you're set. Having a garage was an incredible feature too. We drove my (new) car to Breckenridge so being able to house it in a garage was key. Which brings me to the roadways getting to the house and the driveway - lots of winter vacation rentals don't tell you what the actual conditions are GETTING to the home. The main road this house sits on is salted and plowed everyday, all day long started at about 6am so its always safe to drive! The driveway to this house is SHORT and FLAT. No getting stuck. That was a big concern of mine because of past experiences at other rentals. Last, the free shuttle to the slopes is literally across the driveway. It comes on the 18 and the 48 of every hour til 1am! We took the shuttle multiple times a day - for the ski slopes and for dinners into town. The shuttle ride to town takes about 10 minutes. Easy and stress free. We can't say enough good things about this home and when we return to Breckenridge, we'll be renting this house again!"Guest: Peter L.
