  • Perfect winter getaway

"I would highly recommend this house for your next Breckenridge vacation. Our group was comprised of 7 adults and 2 toddlers. we had plenty of space with two bedrooms on the main floor and three bedrooms on the lower floor. One thing to note - the master on the main floor is en-suite, the second bedroom on the main floor has access to the full bathroom next door, but the three bedrooms downstairs (including the large Camp room) share one bath. The house itself is beautiful and well stocked with supplies. The house and the hot tub were very clean and there were plenty of sheets, blankets and towels (including separate hot tub towels in the downstairs closet. There were multiple board games and cards, the pool table was a nice amenity and almost every bedroom had a TV. The views from the deck were amazing and there was quite a bit of space outside the house for sledding and playing in the snow. I would recommend a 4W drive vehicle though - once you turn off Rt. 9 the road is plowed but snow covered. The booking is done through Book Breck and everyone I spoke to there was so professional. We even received a personal visit one afternoon from a representative of Book Breck who brought us hot cocoa and made sure we didn't have any questions about the house. The location is about 5 miles south of downtown Breckenridge but it is a very easy ride into town. Overall, it is a really nice house for the price. You won't be disappointed to stay here!"

  • Great for large groups

"My family & I had a small reunion here & it was amazing! There was plenty of space for everyone, the views are unbeatable, & now my sister is planning to have her wedding here! If you are looking for a true mountain experience choose this place. We had so much fun there was a horseshoe pit, a swingset & sandbox for the kids, & a hot tub! We are definitely looking forward to spending more time there when my sister gets married."

  • Exceptional home and value

"Within 15 minutes after arriving on December 22, 2013 for a week+ stay, my wife was wanting to buy the house. We all were planning on a speedy return. In reality, all of the reviews on this site are very positive and deservedly so, the home was much more than we anticipated; beautiful stone fireplace, flat screen TVs, functioning wifi, rooms larger than expected, quality of construction and design was greatly appreciated and the traffic on the south side of Breck was so much lighter one could really get to town or the slopes and back very quickly, 7 to 10 minutes was not unheard of despite huge Christmas traffic. The owners were very attentive to our needs, even decorating (very tastefully) for Christmas including a tree replete with lights (grandkids were ecstatic). I felt that working with the owners was more like negotiating with old friends. Speaking of care, one day we came home from skiing to find the hot tub was malfunctioning. A call to the owner, in Europe at the time, had the tub repaired and ready to go the next day. That's better than many 4-star hotels could pull off. The property is extremely well maintained and filled with unexpected features and details, the Bosch appliances, trash compactor, steam room, over-sized heated garage, deck off the master, natural gas grill on the main deck (so nice to switch on and it's ready to go), a little brook runs down below the deck that babbled even with the 3 to 4 feet of snow on the ground while there. The master has a nice walk-in closet, large sleeping quarters and ample bath with Jacuzzi, steam room, his/her sinks. We've stayed in luxurious resorts with less accommodations. And, yes, there is an elevator one could use if arranged for. Our highest recommendations, for the house and for the area. We definitely will plan on returning for summer or winter activities. Breckenridge is a world class resort with a friendly small town atmosphere, perfect for family budgets, romantic getaways and spectacular adventures into the high country, all of the best Colorado is famous for. Stop by the Breckenridge Brewery for excellent home brews, wander through the Ice Palace along the River Walk and shop the local home-owned businesses. Ski the friendliest mountains in the world, the staff workers are amazing. You'll make lots of new friends. We didn't have a single nit to pick and we're betting neither would you. Our best to the owners and wishes for a prosperous future."

  • Comfortable, Welcoming, Dog-friendly, Immaculate Cabin in the Woods-- LOVED it!

"My husband, dogs, and I rented this cabin for several weeks this summer (2011). We rented it sight-unseen and were pleasantly surprised by the home. It was absolutely immaculate when we arrived. We are dog-owners so appreciate a place that is pet-friendly, but have also stayed in some places that appeared to be kennel-like and a little too doggy. Not this place. It was so clean and un-doggy! We felt so at home there and the owners treated us like family. We dealt with Jim and though we never met him, he was an amazing host. We ended up dropping some things off before we were technically supposed to check in and paying extra to extend our stay. The owner was accommodating, fair, flexible, and super-reasonable. Actually, he's the nicest owner I've ever dealt with from VRBO or any other place I've stayed. The cabin is incredibly well-equipped with all kinds of kitchen utensils, soap, toilet paper, band-aids, laundry detergent, cleaning supplies, you name it! We tried to replace everything we used but you feel like you're staying in a good friend's place that knows you well because every detail is covered. One night the whole neighborhood lost power but no worries- matches and candles were waiting for us in the pantry! Flashlights are in the night stands, binoculars are by the scenic window, etc. If you require the latest of home furnishings, granite counter-tops, and fully remodeled homes, this is not your place. But this wasn't a con for us at all- it is cozy, comfortable, and you feel like you're at your grandparents' or parents' home. We both felt at home from the moment we walked in. I'd absolutely recommend it to anyone who wants an escape from reality and a picturesque setting. We saw amazing wildlife: deer, marmots, mountain goats (completely white- they look like ghosts!), birds, chipmunks, etc. Actually, on the day we left, we saw 2 moose in the valley (Blue River)! The waterfall and lakes down the road are stunning. Well priced, warm and welcoming hosts, and an incredible place to rest and relax! We hope to go back!"

Blue River Travel Tips

Make Blue River Condo Rentals Your Mountain Home

Nestled in the mountains of Colorado, Blue River condo rentals put you at the front door of the best hiking in Breckenridge. Your Blue River lodging is a perfect base camp for you and your family or hiking companions. Hiking, snowshoeing, or cross country skiing in the scenic Blue River district is an adventure that is not easily surpassed. Breckenridge vacation rentals provide all of the comforts of home. Featuring fully appointed kitchens, private bedrooms, and a comfortable place to gather, Blue River lodging feels like your own special place. Many rentals feature hot tubs and beautiful decks that look out over scenic mountain views.

Hiking Quandary Mountain

Quandary Mountain has a summit of 14,000 feet. If you would like a nice introduction to Quandary, try the East Ridge Trail. This easy-to-follow trail will take you on a pleasant half mile hike to the timberline. After that, you have about 2 miles before you reach the summit. The trail is open when the snow is falling, but you will have to trade your hiking boots for snowshoes. Below the timberline there are some great spots to ski. Blue Ridge condo rentals make staging your hike, from meal preparation to equipment storage, easy and fun.

Mountain Biking in the Blue River Area

If you would like to add some mountain biking to your mountain hiking adventure, this is the place. A nice 11 mile ride from Breckenridge to Hoosier Pass takes you to a height of 11,000 plus feet. Your bike hike will start very close to your accommodation and will pass the trail head to Quandary Mountain. Scenic views include small lakes, flowered meadows, and beautiful views of neighboring mountains. Don't forget to pack a camera and some binoculars along with your standard kit.
